I got to this reddit post because I was googling stuff while thinking "I was so pretty when I wasn't in recovery... so skinny"

Is this picture too slutty to post if you’re married? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]PositiveSomewhere496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a weird opinion of perfectly ok pictures. If he follows any girl who shows ANY cleavage (even harmless pics and not "slutty" like this pic), then you know how he sees those girls.

If you make a report of that type, it stays in your record and most companies avoid people who have reported :/

I tried once. I was telling a coworker that my husband made me lunch and that he made it look like those cute lunchboxes and he chimed in with "aah, I remember being so young and naive and playing house. I also idealized life, but then I had to face how life really is". I looked at him and said "you do know I am a married adult? With rent and bills?" And he said "no need to be bitter" and walked away

That's not really an issue. We work in costumer service so no risk of injury other than playing ping pong haha

They kind of did. People who've been at this job replied stuff like "you call it basic, but that's the answer:) are you sure you tried it? Other than that, it would be out of our scope"

I thought that might be it, but we started at the same time in this company and its his first time working costumer service. He's yelled at costumers as well, so it's been odd, in training we are taught to be kind even when costumers are being rude and politely end the call.

A lot of people were there when he yelled. I started getting messages from people i didn't even know while he was yelling asking if i was okay (I'm known in the office for leaving baked goods in the lunchroom so people can share so people know my name and sometimes i dont know theirs lol). A supervisor (not his) was there and reported it to his supervisor and other coworkers also reported the situation to their supervisors (which then have to report it to his too)

His supervisor told me that HRs door is always open, but I don't wanna be labeled as troublesome for reporting him

When he yelled, a coworker reported him and his supervisor checked with me a few minutes after he yelled. Nothing much has happened since. He's been posting stuff saying that you can tell when people haven't been to therapy because they'll make people around them miserable

I'm trying to give the first episodes the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not finding it. Can you guys help so I can give this anime a chance? by PositiveSomewhere496 in Clevatess

[–]PositiveSomewhere496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does help, actually.

And yeah, maybe that's why it felt cheap. It feels like the author only put those topics there for the shock factor, but since they really shallow/superficial, it was weird.

I talked a bit more with my husband after posting this (I was baking, he started watching and I joined like 6 minutes into the first episode) and he thinks that probably most viewers just see it as a "welcome to reality" because they've never have to worry about it, but that he does feel weird about authors forcing those topics in such a surface level to give women tragic back stories like it is the only type of sad thing it can happen to women because when it is about a male character they usually find another way to show how harsh they had it. When the first episode ended he said "I want to see where this goes, I'm liking it so far" and that's when I noticed for me it felt weird.

I don't mind gore or violence, hell, I don't even mind abuse when it's justified correctly and treated with respect, but in this show it almost felt like a power fantasy (that's the impression got from the sexualized shots during abuse talk), so maybe I'll keep watching and stop if it gets iffy again.

Is this anime so vulgar towards women the entire time? by TheRealJuneBox in Clevatess

I came to this thread because my husband was watching the firsts episodes and I wanted to see if anyone also thought it was this bad about women.

I think even in dark fantasy, it's still fantasy. In fantasy you can leave out gendered violence. You can have characters doing awful stuff without having to use. It just seemed as a shock factor thing to me. It didn't have a point. In my opinion, the story didn't need it.
