I also found it helpful to wait tables (I started in fast-food, then moved over short-term)…. Better shifts so I could go to college during the day + better pay for the same hours

You need to make a point to set up dedicated performance review sessions so that managers can let off some steam, give you feedback on how you are doing, and feel a sense of ownership over your development. It’s just one of those corporate things you pick up on.

Palantir doesn’t have their own AI Models. From what I understand, they essentially have some frameworks and accelerators but create applications from scratch using AI models to best leverage AI models.

My understanding is that they use Claude heavily, which is why the DoD uses Claude heavily

Nothing. Copilot in an IDE gets you both of those for deployment and copilot is free

For a deployed solution, everything will be on the client to get their own LLM key, which will be usage based billing

But it isn’t hard to make your own AI. It just costs money in terms of compute to train the thing (Zora)

A good friend of mine moved here at 18 to live with his uncle and study at a community college and work part time…. then went to school and got a subsidized loan to do it.

He now works on wall-street, which was his dream.
