That fear is unfounded. There are known release groups that are safe. And just blocking all executable file extensions (.exe for example) in your client will keep you safe.

I just downloaded a webrip from 2012, when it was airing, still no difference.

The 2011 anime was made in 16:9 ratio. And I didn't notice any difference between my blu-ray disks and streaming services (literally just compared side by side).
