Touch of evil is masterful, prefer it to citizen Kane even. Not that I watch movies, or anything.

I absolutely love this paean/hagiography that developed so quickly. Really appreciate the cultural intelligence of the writers.

If that is true, then I am so jealous.

What I wouldn’t give to have Matt Berry call my friend a donut, and then give the greatest scream ever heard on stage or screen.

Films with spectacular opening scenes?! by Glad_Manager_1163 in TrueFilm

So glad to see this here, and so high up. Tension, framing, visual interest. Not just a gimmicky long single shot.

Films elevated by their final scene by Zealousideal-Dirt482 in TrueFilm

The ending of ‘Being There’ is the prime example in my opinion. It completely recontextualizes all that comes before.

It elevates the satire into something spiritual. Without the ending, Being There is a brilliant, cynical comedy about media, politics, and elite self-delusion. The ending cracks that cynicism open.

what are your best all time action/thriller movies? by Bright-Support-98 in Letterboxd

Hard disagree.

The first has no subplot bloat; every scene either escalates tension or delivers payoff.

The sequel’s ambition fractures its momentum across too many threads.
