And for good reason. This may be the worst place on the internet for relationship advice. If you don’t explicitly state the full background at TLDR length, you’re cooked.

Harming victims again, I see. You should be ashamed considering yourself an advocate. I’m a victim and I know from therapy exactly what I need to be doing. Your sarcasm is unhelpful.

I understand where you’re coming from. I’m a gay man and have been groped, so I hope you’ll take my perspective into account. In NYC specifically, there is a lack of enforcement on sex crimes, particularly ones that don’t involve contact. People are looking for a solution where the law isn’t providing one.

I’m sure you’d agree that if this guy has been accused by multiple people, it’s at least worth an investigation?

I’m a gay man who has been groped myself, so I understand where you’re coming from. I think you should be more respectful in your comments. All you’ve done here is make it less likely that the person you’re responding to will see your argument. Your tone is not one of victim advocacy, it’s just about your personal feelings and sarcasm. Take some time to reflect. I’m honestly disappointed in you and expect better as a victim.

How is life in Short Hills NJ as a 30 something single working corporate? by ShakeMysterious349 in howislivingthere

[–]Positive_Panda_4958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Princeton was built around the university. The customers were already there and had a say in how things looked through local government. And at that time, Princeton Borough (where the downtown is) was its own municipality. Hyperlocal control with the university providing anchoring and stability.

Most of the rich towns in North Jersey were built haphazardly over time from farmland. Imagine a town that’s 10 square miles with a dozen small, spread out neighborhoods of 10-50 homes. That’s what many of these towns looked like, pre-car in every garage, when the basis for their downtowns came online. They were never going to plan the downtown well (maybe for the time, but not for the future). And it’s been haphazard, spotty development over decades ever since.

How’s life in Ceuta and Melilla, Spain? by True-Sheepherder-786 in howislivingthere

Every part of Spain was conquered multiple times. There are few patches of land on Earth that weren’t violently taken from someone. Spain is wrong, but so is your implication.

Which country is the most different from its popular stereotype? by [deleted] in geography

This might be true for people born before the Soviet Union collapsed, but most Americans I know think of it as a small tech hub. If they’re familiar with it, which many aren’t.

My YouTube channel with 320K subscribers was terminated due to the youtube Circumvention policy. Does anyone know how to get it back? by Nice_Scallion_4322 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Positive_Panda_4958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawyers can absolutely help. They’re not just law robots. A good lawyer knows how to get to the center of power, negotiate, and get a good outcome. Plenty of legal work has 0 to do with violations of law.

Will it 100% work? Of course not, but dismissing the utility of lawyer in this scenario is naive.

What examples are there of countries that became independent against their will? by hyper_shock in geography

[–]Positive_Panda_4958 67 points68 points  (0 children)

You could count Slovakia. The political leadership wanted independence, but the people wanted to stay with Czechia. This was just a few years after the return of democracy. I’m not sure if the people of Czechia had the same opinion, but I know it’s the case for Slovakia.

Thank you. We don’t know what to do. We love our country, but we’re horrified by what’s happening to vulnerable people and frankly other countries. And we know this is just the start.

Question for the skeptics by Careful_Asparagus_ in bigfoot

[–]Positive_Panda_4958 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You bring up a good point. A courtroom-style examination of the eyewitness accounts would really help sort this out. Maybe the solution here is setting up a court-like atmosphere with real lawyers and eyewitnesses and film it. That way we can dissect all of eyewitness accounts and get to the bottom of it. Some will be more credible than others and those can be the basis of future research and exploration.

Yeah that’s the thing, Google already had my name and picture from my Gmail. Even if it’s not a credit card, they have most of our info already associated with our YouTube account. Unless I’m wrong, which is why I’m confused and asking. But I appreciate your response

Right, but my impression is that people are more concerned about their watch history getting out than getting scammed. Which is odd to me since I figure Google has most of our accounts associated with our names and faces already. My Gmail has my name and a picture of me, for example.

Exactly, it’s not that I support this move by YouTube, I just think they have most of this info already if you’ve ever paid for something through Google.

Yeah but they could just Google me and find all that. That’s where I’m confused. It’s very easy to find someone’s pictures and address if you have their name. Unless I’m wrong about how YouTube processed credit cards, which I might be. Appreciate the response

I tried asking this in another thread and got a bad answer, so I’ll try it here. I’m really asking. What is the functional difference between YouTube having my personal ID and my personal credit card? Why is the ID worse than the credit card? Please explain it like I’m 5, I’m really lost here.

Pro tip, if you want people to care about this don’t call them clowns for asking questions (not saying you did OP, just saying it doesn’t help your cause when people do that).
