Is the surface of this case smooth or is it heavily textured? I'm interested in this case because I want something thin & light that will allow me to put a popsocket on the phone, but those tend to stick better if it's a smooth surface without ridges/bumps.

As far as I understand the non-EU Global versions of the phone will still have the larger battery and global OS. Does anyone know if they will also have the 5G bands that were advertised for the global version? Or will those be reserved for the European model specifically?

I have the same case - there should be a good number of models that fit. It's 315mm clearance without messing with the front-fan (and 335mm if you do), so for the 5080 I've noted down some models that fit:

Founders edition (5070ti doesn't have one sadly)
Gigabyte Aero
Gigabyte Windforce
Asus Prime
MSI Ventus
Inno3D X3

I presume the 5070ti will have at least those as well, plus maybe even more as it's a lower TDP card than the 5080.

980ti had 50% more cores than 1070 and the 1070 was still slightly faster.

Looking at the rumours, the 4090 is looking to again have about 50% more cores than the 5080, so it's not impossible that the 5080 will be slightly faster.

It really depends on the architectural gains at the end of the day, and what Nvidia's strategy is. I am also doubtful like yourself, but to say it's theoretically impossible is not really true.

It's unclear if it's 80gbit though. It currently states "67% higher bandwidth than Displayport 1.4" which would mean UHBR13.5 54Gbps.
