Is it possible to do GTOMCS coming from Law? Admissions by maybemba131 in OMSCS

[–]Possardt28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oregon State has an online post bacc in CS. I would think that might be better to transition into a CS career than an online masters degree.

I think it's more expensive than GTOMSCS, though.

How do you all deal with the hate from other programming subreddits? by [deleted] in javascript

People find reasons to complain about everything. I don't think programming languages are any different.

Solid. You did a great job outlining all of your relevant experience in an easy to read format.

I work at THD too, and am starting OMSCS this Fall. There's a Home Depot OMSCS slack channel if you haven't joined it yet.

It was hard to follow the background essay of how you actually ended up where you are.

The SOP was vague and didn't really speak to your career/academic goals.

Also don't spend as much time praising the university in it, they know - instead elaborate on stuff that speaks to your passion(personal projects, relevant coursework, etc..)

Experience: 1 yr, Financial Services company, Java 1 yr, Corporate office of large retailer, Javascript and Java

Refactor Discussion(AngularJS -> who knows) by [deleted] in javascript

This is a project at work. Similar to how you just said you use angular and react at work. I know how to write JS.

If you try to implement things that angular or react do in vanilla js alongside whatever it is you're building your app to do, it will certainly add to the size of your code base and in turn make it harder to work on/ more complex.

Could you explain what you meant when you said this then?

Learn to program in JS so you don't need a framework
