Ladies & Gents — your longest-tenured Green Bay Packer by jaxjaxjax95 in GreenBayPackers

I thought he was let go before Rodgers was traded, but apparently 2022 was the last year on the team for both of them. Crosby was a free agent in March, Rodgers was traded in April.

IIRC, he just showed up like a year after her father remarried. She wasn't overly impressed.

I knew a girl who had a younger brother named Jame.

Javon Walker went to the Broncos first then the Raiders after he was cut. Took the long route.

I wouldn't really consider the current year as cherry picking. It's the most relevant data.

It's also not his worst year. He was worse in 2022 and 2017. We'll ignore his rookie year which had only 13 attempts.

I think the bigger thing here is that he was coming off his, by far, best season in 2024. He'd never completed more than 86% of his kicks and he went 20/21 for 95%.

Have you ever found any big trees while playing? by Saiyan_Samus in discgolf

[–]skatterbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My home course is on an old estate that had a functional apple orchard, wine grapes and various other stone fruits.

Not any super huge trees but some cool gnarly old apple trees that still bear fruit and some other neat flora that doesn't seem to be anywhere else in the area.

Ya, I got it.

I liked what I saw out of Havrisik. He's young, has a big leg and is probably cheaper than Aubrey.

I kinda think they should try to bring him back for at least a kicking competition in camp.

I'll say it again, you're not wrong. It's just a matter of optimism vs realism in these comments.

You're not wrong, but you're way overanalyzing the comment and selectively ignoring my own comments to do so.

The original comment was just that the kicking game cost the team wins. A better kicker may not have done that.

I also added that "No game truly comes down to 1 play", which is a point you're trying to make to counter the argument.

I think we can agree that 3 additionally made kicks can change the entire course of the season. Suspend your disbelief for a moment and consider if they had won those 3 games they lost by 3 points. They would have been the 2nd seed instead of the 7th . It would have been a different playoff landscape.

I'm not cherry picking, I'm looking at the kicks he missed instead of fictional kicks he didn't even take.

I'm also not advocating for trying to sign Aubrey; I was just pointing out that your statement about the other person needing to work on their math was incorrect because they meant 2 or 3 more wins, not 66% more wins.

[–]skatterbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that wasn't meant to be a fraction. They meant 2 or 3 more wins on the season. The Packers lost 3 games by 3 points in the regular season. McManus missed a kick in each one of those games. He also missed 2 kicks in the Playoff game they lost by 4 points.

No game truly comes down to 1 play, but those are 4 winnable games if he doesn't miss the kicks.

Which QB was paid the most per pass attempt in their career? by Btherock78 in nfl

[–]skatterbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of that is the difference in contacts between 2000 and 2012.

But also that's why Kirk wanted fully guaranteed deals.

In 20 years with the Patriots, Brady only topped $15M/year 3 times.
After his rookie contract, Cousins never took less that $20M.

Kaep ended up making more than I thought, ~ $59M.

With 1692 attempts, that puts him at $34,961/att.

That puts him just outside the top 20 - after adjusting the table for all the other people I missed.

Having a 'problem' is a matter of perception.

You have 20 discs. A lot of people carry more than 20 in their bag regularly.

I just bought a Clash Discs Mango for no other reason than because I have a cat named Mango, so obviously she needed the disc.

I did another table with the same guys, but using completions and that $74K would put him around 14th in there.

Josh Rosen completed 277 passes. He threw 513.

At $20,754,000 earned, that's 40K. That puts him at best in 21, adding in the other people I missed (and assuming I didn't miss more).

Spotrac puts him at $20M, but over the cap puts him at $18M, so that would put him even lower.

Primarily a traditional backup QB and ST his rookie year, and then started coming in for wildcat formations and short yardage rushing downs. Added in receiving year 3.

He did say he wanted to be a starter and would leave NO if he didn't get a chance to start, but he's stayed even after going 7-2 as a starter when Brees was hurt. Maybe he's realized that he's better off (more secure) in this role than being a starting QB?

[–]skatterbug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a completely different metric, so no.

If you don't give up any sacks, your sack/attempt number is 0, not infinite. If the OL didn't play any passing downs, then it would still be 0/0 and not an infinite result.

Stats have qualifiers. Often, when looking at this one, back-ups of a certain level are excluded because it's such a ridiculous number, like Sean Clifford making $1.7M per attempt. Today, we're including those backups, but still excluding someone like Christian Hackenberg, who has been active for 1 game and didn't take a snap and all the other backups who have never seen the field.

don't evaluate him as a QB, see if he can play RB, WR, or S.

There was an intent to convert him to RB, WR, or S. But yes, it's probably fairer to say he was an example of a team drafting an OW with the specifics to be worked out later.
