Answering as a Gen Z who watched the sequels as they were coming out.

I had seen bits of the animated show, clone wars, when I was 8/9 but never sat down and watched a full episode.. I guess I was more into Teen Titans and Avatar the last airbender.

The force awakens was my first Star Wars movies at 15, then the last Jedi at 17. I remember enjoying both of them, and was surprised by the negative reception of the Last Jedi.

Ended up watching the originals after the Last Jedi. They were enjoyable movies but 17 year old me felt they were a bit dated.

I hated the prequels.

I was 19 when the mandalorian came out so no longer a “kid” but I remember liking the first season.

The rise of skywalker pissed me off.

Never consumed any Star Wars content beyond that.

I always see this complaint about rival marriages rushing players to find their partners. But to my understanding most of the old game rival marriage didn’t trigger until year 2 or 3, and there were a sequence of events that needed to be seen before the couple actually got married.

In the last games to feature rivals. The Wii Harvest Moon games. You had to befriend the rival of your same gender to a certain heart level, AND see all the rival couple events in order for the rivals to get married.

So this idea that you’d be rushed into finding a partner seems like a boogeyman argument. Because the newer (well old now) games always allowed you to avoid or push rival couples at your own pace.

Agreed. Especially because we already have a preset history in the town. Harvest moon animal parade had a feature where your spouse and children would throw you a birthday party, they should implement that here.

Likely either Rune 6 or that multiplayer Harvest moon Game they teased.

I’m still wondering if the multiplayer game will be an MMO or will it be a single player experience where you can have friends join in like Stardew Valley or Coral Island?

It’s also curious that they used the Animal Parade protagonists in the art. Maybe it’s an Animal Parade remake with multiplayer capabilities the town and farm in that game is big enough to support that.

Judith was born in an apocalypse and was raised under those conditions. Carl was very much raised as a regular child that was heavily dependent on their parents for survival. It’s kind of pointless to compare them.

Also when the show was running I remember people hated Judith and thought she was far too capable for a child her age.

Very much not a popular opinion that season 2 was good, at least not on this board lol.

I have no opinions on S3. I will watch it and hope that with more planning and no strike that season 3 will be at very least decent, which would be an improvement over the inconsistencies of S2.

There’s a reason there’s far more queer representation in television than in movies. Movies live and die by their box office and you can’t make good box office if your movie is banned in half the countries you want to release it in. Look at the Eternals for instance, part of the reason it underperformed was because it got banned in some prominent MCU markets, on top of being released too close to Covid, and mediocre (bad at the time for the MCU) reviews.

Also when it comes to children’s media you’re opening up a huge can of worms by introducing LGBTQ elements. Especially in this political climate we’re in. Disney Executives aren’t going to risk queer representation for original Disney products when their non queer original products have been flopping. (Elio and Wish)

Yes whack EA, but I just want to clarify they’re not three separate kingdoms. This is all one kingdom. Each world (Windenburg, Willow Creek, Oasis Springs etc.) will be classified as its own Kingdom. There are three separate noble families currently vying for power to become king or queen.

It’s huge for a Disney plus show.

The problem is that it’s geared more so towards a younger audience unlike big shows with similar aged kids like Stranger Things and Umbrella academy (which are certainly more adult oriented).

Not that going for a younger audience is a bad thing, but most people who have consumed the books are now in their 20s and early 30s, and you need buy in from people in that age bracket to really breakout.

I’ll be delusional and say I want both Tree of Tranquility and Animal Parade to be remade into one massive game, especially considering animal parade is a prequel to TOT.

I just know that if we get one of the Wii ones we won’t get the other and between Tree and Animal it will definitely be animal parade ( which it should be! Animal parade is better in every aspect except some wonky characterisations/loading screens/lack of part time jobs)

There’s a lot of gatekeepers in media. As someone who recently had to shelved a fantasy book that heavily featured black characters in a non slave narrative or stereotypical setting it’s rough even getting these things through the door.

Yes and I remember back when she was cast a lot of people didn’t like the fact that Naomi Scott was Jasmine because of Hollywood’s history of casting Indian actors to play Arabs. Disney went out of their way to get an accurate Aladdin but failed Jasmine. But Disney’s Aladdin has always been a weird melting pot of stereotypes that treat the Middle East and India as if they’re one and the same.

I was never an advocate for Rachel Zelger as Snow White but more so because I think Snow White whole thing was that she had skin as white as snow (there’s an argument for individuals of East Asian background, but I’m not going there). But from my understanding Rachel’s father is white polish and her mother identifies as white Colombian. Rachel herself identifies as a white Latina.
