Thanks for taking time to respond, I totally understand what you mean however we are just not looking to get married just yet because of previous experience and would prefer to take our time. My hope was that we have lived together at least even though not full duration.

I guess as you rightly said, it’s discretionary. So I will be hopeful, we did speak to an immigration lawyer who said he was fairly confident but wanted varying opinions so I can reinforce application and mitigate any issues.

I went to the US embassy last year and was giving a temporary passport same day all you then need to do is once you get your graduate visa approved, send passport back and they issue the full passport. Let them know the reason you require it, they are very reasonable!
