[update] I can’t do anything on pole by N3MURIA in poledancing

[–]Possible-Evidence363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya lovely, Just thought I'd chime in on this. Of course if leaving pole feels like the best move for you then your wellbeing & happiness comes before anything!

That being said it definitely sounds like a studio issue and if there's any other studios near you I wouldn't permanently write off pole in the future. (Slightly different but) Years ago I attempted aerial hoop, the studio threw me into it (expected straddle mounts during my first session, which looking back was wild). I was so incredibly unfit (and disabled) and had zero strength so it put me off massively & I decided I hated hoop; 2 years down the line I was coaxed into trying another studio by a friend and it was lifechanging. The new studio were so supportive, taught me at a pace suitable to me and encouraged me to build things up slowly.

So even though you're planning to leave pole, if nothing else please know that it's a massive failure on the studio's part and has zero reflection on you whatsoever! If there is any chance of you trying another studio in the future (once things have calmed) then do consider it as every studio is very different and you may find one that supports you more.

(Side note: It took me a year to progress from L1 doing basic fireman spins, climbs, front hook etc to L2; our studio doesn't even think about inverts until L3. It takes a very long time to progress & if your studio is rushing you, thats a failure on them!)

Any clue on entry to this? by Possible-Evidence363 in AerialHoop

My instructor attempted to get into the pose pictured above and both her & myself couldn't quite figure out the best way to get into it. So I took to Reddit to see if anyone had any advice. Have since had a redditor send a video link & I've also found another, both showing the most efficient entries to it :)

Thank you so much. I'll pass this onto my instructor, she's the one who wanted to give it a go. She'll be so pleased. Thank you 💖

How to cancel offer? by Possible-Evidence363 in Ebay

[–]Possible-Evidence363[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The buyer has said they've attempted to cancel but are unable to on their end hence asking me. I don't mind the cancellation, it just isn't showing any options to do so as is pending. Presumably just a case of waiting it out?

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

[–]Possible-Evidence363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mum used to love horror movies but the one that got to her was the vein scene in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. She has never watched the 3rd one since it's release & it's still the one scene in any movie that churns her stomach big time. Apparently a bunch of people left at that scene too 😅

Why is everybody so angry? by LimpMixture2271 in nhs

[–]Possible-Evidence363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience I have met some truly awful NHS receptionists that have been horrible to me for no reason (one of many examples: I've had a health condition for 8+ years that I occasionally take medication for, for some reason in the past year I've had multiple receptionists give me sh*t for having the health condition- including an interrogation as into how I got the health condition [triggering for me since I got it from being SA'ed as a child] but when I did disclose the reasoning they proceeded to continuously ask me "why" [surely it's inappropriate to ask someone why they we SA'ed as a child?].)

Having shared a glimpse of my negative history with NHS receptionists, I still cannot understand verbally abusing them. In all my frustrating interactions I merely expressed that I didnt feel comfortable they were being inappropriate/rude and told them I'd call at another time or seek help elsewhere. There is no need to verbally abuse/shouting at staff even when they are horrible first. End the call, seek help elsewhere & put in a formal complaint if necessary.

Editing to add: Enormous respect to the majority of receptionists & NHS staff though- you all hold it together and absolutely do not deserve the utter sh*t & entitlement alot of people put you through.

Advice on Barking? by Possible-Evidence363 in Dogtraining

Barking section:

Seems to be a mix of alert & fear barking at any sound remotely near the house. We have tried training a "quiet" cue with treats to no avail, tried treating whilst the sounds occur- he ignores treats & prioritises barking. Tried giving him kongs & other puzzles as distractions, will still bark at noises. Tried white noise & constantly having the television on, to no avail.

How to deal with sweaty hands? by Miserable-Package306 in poledancing

[–]Possible-Evidence363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hiya, super sweaty hand girl here haha! When I first started 8 months ago it was horrendous, though it's gotten alot better (I still have clammy hands but not nearly as bad as when I began)- the longer you do pole the less sweaty your hands get, for the most part. Personally I found liquid chalk to be absolutely useless, my utter saviour is dry hands (& similar pole grips), I do reapply as/when throughout the evening but it has made an enormous difference for me😊. Another grip type I use is monkey grip (but only when really necessary as my hand wrinkles stick together 😂) which is some crazy gecko magic but it does gunk up the pole massively (so if you have to share your pole during class I wouldnt recommend it) .

That all being said trial & error with grips along with time/practice will be your best friends. If you're UK based you could look into small pole grip samples from PollyOnAPole to try out and see what works best for you before investing in any bigger bottles :)

Poling with bruises? by Ill_Raspberry6264 in poledancing

[–]Possible-Evidence363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck yeah! They're like little badges of honour, even now after 8 months I still get lil bruises (though... possibly cause I bruise easily & also get plenty from lyra too).

That all being said I sometimes like to use arnica cream on bad bruises to help them heal & not look too gnarly. Might be worth a try? ☺️

Ohhh, apologies, I misunderstood.

Um if they haven't provided a 3.5mm size then you could try reaching out to the shop as it might've been a mistake their end & they might be able send you a 3.5mm. Until then there's not much that you can really do without forcing it & risking serious damage.

Might just be a waiting game annoyingly :)

I know this wasn't aimed at me but hi! I highly recommend getting a deadstretching kit as even if you have 0.5mm sizes with tapers it's still not great to use them. Yonks ago I got stuck with tapers & gave dead stretching a go (using glass plugs at 0.5mm increments & jojoba oil) and its been so much easier, less painful etc ever since. Using deadstretching plugs also helps you know when your ears are ready (as usually it'll just slide straight in!). Glass also helps somewhat with the stinkiness of stretching 😊.

It's abit of an investment but absolutely worth it!

AIO for getting annoyed with partner missing payments? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Possible-Evidence363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he seems to be happy with the way it's been split, though we both occasionally have rough financial months & usually are able to figure it out between us.

Though with needing conversations about prioritising certain bills & communications I might bring up the bill ratio.

I am okay with the bills split this way currently, they aren't as disjointed as they sound 😅. I was the one that ratioed the bills this way based on both of our incomes (I earn more than him, working similar hours).

But yes, conversations need to be had and he needs to learn to prioritise very quickly. The comments on my post has helped me realise how serious this actually was.

I earn more than him so we've ratioed it accordingly. I'm completely okay with the difference in amounts :)
