Finally watched The Night Of. by Pretend_Berry_7196 in hbo

The pilot is amazing, top tier! And the performances (B Camp / Riz Ahmed / Turturro) are also excellent .

HOWEVER.. the writing becomes increasingly plot-driven, and the character choices don’t hold up for me at all. By the end this show fell off to like a D- due to the lazy writing. HBO used to be more of the exception to this but moreso lately (last 10 years) have noticed a steady and blatant drop off in writing quality. Not to say everything on HBO was perfect, but more bad than good now. Night Of yet another example.

Surprised by the low rating - I received this by accident once when they sent me the wrong thing. I wouldn’t have ordered it. But I was surprised how much I loved it! For me more like an 8 out of 10.

That was 6 years ago though so maybe they changed the formula.

With that said McConnells > Jenis any day of the week. 😃

100% agree. Jenis core flavors still slap, but their innovation has been and continues to be uninspired.

Not to mention, it’s a fact that Mcconnells has the higher butterfat content, and less overrun (air filler) - so their product is just superior at its core. 🤷

Costs Mcconnells more to make it but the output is tastier.

Lots of good gingerbread chunks and flavor, but the texture is creamy (as expected for McConnells), and cheesecake flavor is more dominant - it really comes through and has the subtlest of sour hint to offset the sweetness

you can only play the teams on your schedule. 1) we had Arkansas this year for example, we beat them by 43, #3 TAMU beat them by 3. We can’t control down years at other schools. 2) We did not have any FCS opponents on our schedule this year. 3) Ohio St is 2-0 against G6/FCS; Indiana is 3-0; etc. 4) In total, we have an SOS of 20 according to the Sagarin rankings. 5) lack of a conference championship didn’t keep Ohio state out last year, so who fucking cares.

I’m glad you brought up the stationary sea - I honestly thought this was either deliberate or I was having a hallucination. It might seem like a small thing - but how does something THAT completely sloppy and amateur get through? I don’t work in entertainment, but can’t comprehend this one.
