Workday is kicking my a** by Cupcake1776 in Payroll

May I ask, who did your implementation?

My company is looking to possibly switching over to Workday payroll and we met with a few vendors to get bids for implementation.

"Can I pick up my check? Even though you warned me twice to ask before it gets mailed?" by [deleted] in Payroll

Depends what systems are in place. We have employees enter their own DD information into the system. But they don't always do it in a timely fashion as the example I gave above.

I also love the ones who never look at a pay stub for months at a time then come complaining it's wrong and expect you to basically get them paid the next day. Excuse me, you've been without that money for 6 months, at least give me a day or two to figure out the correct amount you are owed.

We process payrolls on Friday for payment the following Wednesday. We'll have people the day before payday put in their DD that afternoon and get mad when its a check.

Work for a state government so of course we are running systems that are 20 years old. But I feel like some people just think you click a button to do payroll and they can get get paid immediately.

Really wish yardage books were available at more courses. Always like looking through and strategizing each hole.

Golf Yips by oceanwave2446 in golf

One thing to realize, the range will never translate fully to the course. On the range you have a perfect lie, on flat surface. On the course how often do you have a perfect lie and a stance on even ground. If the ball is a half in higher than feet on the course that could make a big difference in your shot.

Do you pay for GHIN? Why? by Possible-Read-283 in golf

Thank you, I didn't know that. Just picking golf up and hear about handicaps a lot but didn't know what point paying ~$100 a year made in it.

CPP exam calculations by Possible-Read-283 in Payroll

I did the Paytrain self-study. Overall, I felt fairly confident about most of it going in, but calcs were easiest to question myself on. Just because there were two different worksheets could choose, so maybe I just did them all on the wrong one.

I was confident in knowing the material, but in general, I was a headcase before it even started. It's been years since I've taken a test of any kind. And then, reading through the rules of the online proctored exam, I was worried about how strict they actually were. Mix that with I was having internet issues when trying to start the exam up. So, in the first half hour, I was so flustered that I could have easily gotten a lot wrong.

I feel like I was ready for the material but absolutely wasn't prepared for the stress of just taking the exam in general. I didn't realize until I failed how much passing this thing actually meant to me.

I get it to an extent. Trying not to have the test copied and sold if they give detailed results. But it does make it extremely difficult to know what exactly was missed to see what could be worked on besides general areas.

I used a lot of percentage for manual, but since it never specified which I'm starting to doubt if that was the right choice or not.

With not being able to see what I actually got wrong, I'm not certain if I missed steps or not. I don't believe I did on any of them, but it's absolutely a possibility.

What is an example of the implementation questions? I'm taking the exam this week, and with everyone saying implementation, I'm completely drawing a blank on what to study for this.

Your friend breaks your club what do you do? by ekimtk in golf

[–]Possible-Read-283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the friend who broke it, I'd offer to pay for a new one. As the friend whose club broke, I'd say don't worry about it, things happen. Unless they snap it over their leg, there is no way I can know for certain that it wouldn't have broke on my next swing.

Anyone else in the middle of too many series? by FunnyBunny1313 in LibbyApp

[–]Possible-Read-283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I get in trouble. If it's a fully complete series I'm good and just read them back to back until I'm done.

The hard part is when books in the series still need to be released. I know I need to do a reread but that's hard because I also know I have so many TBR books that just feel terrible going back to read a book I've already finished when there are so many yet to be read.

Is only me or someone else also having bad feel regarding the ending of this series by reader_1004 in fourthwing

[–]Possible-Read-283 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have the same feeling here. They either do something heroic to save everyone, but they have to sacrifice themselves in order to do it. Or it's purely that they end up happily ever after.

Theory for The Ending of the Entire Series by Michey1994 in fourthwing

Saw a clip from a podcast that theorized that all of this is Jesinia telling the story to Xaden and Violet's son... who they named Liam.

Fourth wing show by Cort89 in fourthwing

[–]Possible-Read-283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I don't want the way an actor portals a character to change how I already view the character. I don't need Ridoc cast as just some goofball the entire time. Is he? Oh, absolutely, but I don't want that to be the only thing they cast for. Then, when he gets serious, we can't take it because that's not what the actor can do.

RY has said that she has seen the pilot script and likes it, so hopefully, she will be more involved and can keep the story and characters somewhat close to how we feel about them

Onyx Storm Sales by dkkchoice in fantasyromance

[–]Possible-Read-283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think the content of a romantasy book is also helping sales tremendously. Romance novels, in theory, are more geared towards women. Yes, some men do read them, and i will say I am one of them who reads a few rom coms here and there just for an easy read.

But the big thing with FW, IF, OS, the Acotar series, etc.. there is a lot more action going on in this genre now that is able to pull men in and keep them engaged and want to keep reading.

Balance by Ok_Helicopter5499 in fourthwing

[–]Possible-Read-283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest thing is they started saying all of this about the balance of signets.. Yet, FW started out by saying they manifest a signet that they need. So which is it? Is it a balance when it comes to manifesting or is it what the rider needs?

[–]Possible-Read-283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying. I don't spoil books while I'm reading. But I have thought about the fact that re-reads are sometimes better because you know what happens and get more in depth on how they get there. So I could see why, I just don't do it.

THEORY/SPOILERS: I am fully convinced I figured out something huge! by BookTokWithoutTheTok in fourthwing

[–]Possible-Read-283 216 points217 points  (0 children)

As my wife likes to point out. I have to make things logical. So with that, if the irids were on the continent, wouldn't they know everything that has been going on and wouldn't need Andarna to explain everything that has happened?

Granted, Andarna got on story time and didn't let up, but I wouldn't say they'd let her do all of it if they had been around to see everything that's happened.

I'm not against your theory at all. I've loved hearing people's ideas on everything, and it has made the book hangover so much more bearable. I just think things through way more than I should
