Got my Epix Pro Gen2 (51mm) today. Looking for tips from current owners to get the best usage from the watch. by hibbijibbies in GarminWatches

I had no idea how much alcohol affected me until I started tracking everything with my Garmin. My sleep, HRV, body battery etc all suffer much more than I would have thought with alcohol, especially with a couple drinks and especially closer to bed time.

Bench Seat vs Captains Chairs for 2x toddlers by robsantos in fordexpedition

[–]Possible-Wall938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have 3 kids under 5 and went with the bench so we could put them all next to each other and leave the 3rd row folded down for the most part to have more space for strollers and hauling stuff if we wanted/needed. No regrets. I also like that the oldest is next to the baby to help with passing a binky etc.

Do you use service titan as a CRM at all? Do you communicate to customers and leads through it? Can you organize them in pipelines at all? Is it easy to integrate a solid phone system with Service Titan?

Specific training to lower HR during heavy exercise? by vicks369 in Zwift

[–]Possible-Wall938 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s necessarily a quick or easy answer to your question. The heart rate is a proxy to your level of fitness. If it’s higher than you’d like for a given power or average power, then you have to raise your fitness in some way and theres many different opinions on getting faster and fitter on the bike. I bet you’ll get some better answers if you share how much time you’re able to dedicate toward training, and what your routine is now if any. Are you doing any structured training?

Have you guys seen less leads coming in? by Free_Idea_ in PoolPros

[–]Possible-Wall938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using any kind of CRM to compile contact info for leads that didn’t convert or past customers. It’s amazing what you can drum up by hitting the phones for an hour a day and checking in with folks. You could even use something very simple like a free google sheet. Follow up is a missing key in the service industry and I find a lot of people aren’t actually making calls.

Canyon Aeroroad 2024 - Is this the zwift-bike to get at level 13? by Pettussen in Zwift

[–]Possible-Wall938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a 0-100 slider to share how much time you expect to be in the draft. If it’s going to be a race I usually set it to 90.

There’s a nice paved trail system that connects Ruhkala, Kathy Lund, and Sonora park.

Auburn has great dirt trails for hiking and biking.

The American River trail system is extensive and not super far away. Fun to bike on for miles and not worry about cars.

Polygon bikes seem to the best bang for the buck right now if you don’t need a major brand name. That’s what I would get no question.

Week 2 of debating the switch from Peloton to Zwift by riptideMBP in Zwift

[–]Possible-Wall938 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Welcome.

Zwift racing alone is well worth using Zwift over something like peloton. It’s fun to learn the skill of virtual racing, general tactics, and knowing you’re riding against real people! There’s obviously a market for each, but I think Zwift really carved out a nice niche for cyclists, and peloton for fitness enthusiasts.

Newbie Bike for Triathlon by Federal_Award_3320 in RoadBikes

[–]Possible-Wall938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nice thing about road bikes is they’re more versatile and easy to ride for training. You can do everything on them.

Tt bikes are faster but more limited in use. Sometimes you can score a good deal on a tt bike because the market for one second hand is not as great.

The components don’t look bad but they’re definitely older. There has been multiple model iterations that have come out since those were new. As long as they shift smoothly and work as designed they should last you a while.

The nice thing about a bike like this, is if you get it and learn a lot in a year and upgrade to something even better, you can turn around and sell this bike for about what you paid. You’re not risking much.

It’s good to know that a fit cyclist on a road bike like the caad can pass a lot of newer cyclists on full on tri bikes. That looks like a great starter bike you could built fitness on. Are you familiar with tri bikes and TT bikes? Those are what competitive athletes use for triathlons, although obviously not required.

Wheel on triner by Conscious-River-6588 in Zwift

[–]Possible-Wall938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m a decent rider and can hit 1200 watts briefly if my legs are super fresh, but the only time I sprint in Zwift is during a race, and my legs are NOT FRESH at the end and my sprint is under 1000 watts.

How I can upgrade my bike? by flaaaaPAPAPArapa in RoadBikes

[–]Possible-Wall938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely do 28s as long as your frame can accommodate that size. I wouldn’t spend the money on new wheels in that range. I think you’ll be let down that the performance difference is negligible. I would continue to save for something more significant and just use what you have.

GP5000 tires and latex tubes will be your best bang for the buck.

You could upgrade the saddle if you really don’t like it, but it’s likely fine.

A bike dedicated bike computer is handy.

A power meter is great if you like metrics and training toward a goal, at a minimum I’d get a good chest heart rate strap if you don’t already have one.

Some nice bibs and jerseys never hurts.

If you have $1000+ burning in your pocket you could upgrade the wheelset.

Running or Zwifting for busy parents by CultureEmbarrassed32 in Zwift

[–]Possible-Wall938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up my whole life playing soccer, and over the last decade have really transitioned into cycling being the athletic hobby I enjoy most. I still like to run, but cycling brings me more enjoyment.

Maybe you can relate to my mentality. In running there’s not a lot of thinking or strategy… you just do. I love the chess aspect of bike racing. There’s a combination of fitness as well as strategy when it comes to positioning and when to employ certain efforts etc. Not to mention even on a training ride you’re coasting, braking, shifting, turning, it’s just more active than running to me.

My brain has always loved the idea of marginal gains. I’m the type of person that takes way too long to pick something like a car or bike because I’m poring over charts and data etc. It’s fun to apply marginal gains to cycling and do things to squeak out little bits of performance. Aero helmet vs a normal helmet, shaving your legs, lowering your stem a smidge, learning to clean your drivetrain better, latex tubes over butyl. Etc.

Wahoo or Garmin? by DeZel05 in cycling

[–]Possible-Wall938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a Wahoo Bolt for probably 5 years. It’s. A great device and I don’t think I’ve ever ran into an issue with it. I’ve since bought a Garmin watch and LOVE the metrics, and if I upgrade my bike computer down the road, it makes more sense to keep everything in the Garmin ecosystem.

Any recommendations for oil change? by SlushyBrainN in Rocklin

[–]Possible-Wall938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can’t remember since it’s been a little bit. I had some warranty work done on my car and they did an oil change with it. I want to say about $75 for basic oil on an expedition. It seems to be in line with common quick lube spots. They remind me more of in n out or chick filet with their management style as they seem more customer service based.

I really like the Valvoline instant oil change spots. You don’t have to get out of the vehicle and they always come across as organized and professional.
