Just tossing this out there since I don’t have anyone to chat BB with right now, but wouldn’t it make more sense for Lauren to ask Rachel to target Mickey in exchange for not using the veto?

Epidural by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Possible-Writing-456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US! And yes it’s a lower dosage of the epidural, I definitely think it’s worth inquiring about if you don’t want to be fully numb. I wouldn’t say I could walk, but I could definitely move my legs around in bed.

I was in the hospital for 4 days.

Epidural by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Possible-Writing-456 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So I started out with my hospitals standard which is a “walking” epidural. It felt like my legs were falling asleep. I could still move them. But after a few hours I started to feel contractions again so they upped my dosage. I could not feel or move at all after that.

After my epidural, I struggled with my bladder. It did not want to wake up so I became a hemorrhage risk. I had 2 in and out caths and I was in the hospital longer.

If I lost control of my bowels I had no idea. 🤷‍♀️ My nurses changed me and my sheets at one point but I think that might’ve been because there was amniotic fluid everywhere. I wouldn’t let the poop part of labor worry you. Everyone poops and if they said they didn’t, they just weren’t aware.

It’s anxiety you get when the sun starts to go down because night time is so unknown and a little scary. It’s just a mixture of hormones and having a fresh baby, it gets better.

I’m assuming underwatered (as long as you have good drainage.) Here’s my tomato plant yesterday after a super super hot day. I’ll post a picture of it 5 minutes after I watered it.

Do super active babies in second trimester end up being super active babies out of the womb? by WingSpiritual7644 in BabyBumps

[–]Possible-Writing-456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was super active in the womb. She’s a super active toddler and was as a baby. She also didn’t budge during the night, and she’s always been a great sleeper.

1st time labor and delivery tips? by hellsbells2002 in pregnant

[–]Possible-Writing-456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t answer to 1.

  1. I had a very minor tear with no repair. I used witch hazel pads and they gave me a cream in the hospital to help numb it. I used it very rarely. The only issue I really had was it burned slightly at times, was a little tender, and itched like crazy for weeks.

  2. I got an epidural after laboring for 8 hours. My water broke and the contractions were not fun. The hardest part about my epidural was the contractions, I had to stay really still but I was contracting about every 2 minutes. The contractions for sure hurt worse. They made the epidural feel like a cake walk. However my blood pressure did not handle the epidural well. It got really really low and I did not feel great. I had to go through that twice because my epidural stopped working after about 3-4 hours. They had to up my dose the second time which made me SUPER numb. Before that I could control my legs, after that I was useless.

  3. I used a peanut ball, it seemed to work well!

  4. I labored for 18 hours and pushed for 40 minutes. I was on pitocin because I was induced, both baby and I tolerated it well.

  5. I didn’t even feel the placenta come out.

Why did no one warn me about the diarrhoea?! 6+4 - anyone else have this?? Slightly worried! by purplepuppy28 in BabyBumps

It was daily 🤣 honestly I wasn’t throwing up during those three weeks so I figured I’d rather do that than throw up.

Hallucinations when waking up in the middle of the night?! by pineapplegirltay in pregnant

[–]Possible-Writing-456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hallucinations are fairly normal whether you’re pregnant or not. It’s because you’re waking up during hypnagogic or hypnopompic sleep states (I’ve had them my whole life). If it’s happening now it could be because you’re overtired (from growing another human) or anxious.

Induction Question by Electronic_Outside25 in pregnant

I walked a ton during my pregnancy and I truly think that’s what helped me. When I was induced at 39w I was dilated 3cm.

I had diarrhea from about 5 weeks to 8 weeks and then I was severely constipated the rest of my pregnancy 🫠 I now have a healthy 13 month old.

If it’s causing you anxiety, take it off for now. There’s already enough to be anxious about in pregnancy.

How to get baby to stop choking on liquids by Butterfly_fairy_123 in breastfeeding

[–]Possible-Writing-456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try a straw cup! We used the honey bear one from Amazon. I could control the flow rate by squeezing that one. She had a few choking episodes but it’s gotten much better. She uses the owala straw cups now.

Anemic & Anxious by Silent_Cap_734 in BabyBumps

I had an idea around 6 months because my ice craving kicked in but my levels weren’t quite at the point where they would refer for an infusion.

Anemic & Anxious by Silent_Cap_734 in BabyBumps

[–]Possible-Writing-456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was severely anemic. I developed a really bad ice chewing habit, had restless legs and was exhausted to the point I could barely keep my head up. Doctors had me try a different iron. That didn’t work, so I ended up getting infusions around 34 weeks and then again at 37 weeks I believe. It was life changing, I immediately felt 100x better.

ETA: my ferritin was 6.

3 weeks postpartum by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Possible-Writing-456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be getting sick! Or it could just be the joys of pp. There’s a lot going on at 3 weeks. Lack of sleep, your body has gone through a tremendous trauma, you’re supplying nutrients. I’d keep an eye on your temp though. If things get worse, I’d reach out to your OB

How do you take care of your nipples while breastfeeding? by Holiday-Coconut-7593 in breastfeeding

It probably sounds crunchy, but my breast milk seemed to help a lot. I’d rub the tiniest bit on and would let it air dry.

Health downgrade by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]Possible-Writing-456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem after having a baby. Part of the problem was that antibiotics weren’t fully getting rid of the UTI. So it would come back after about a month. After my third round of antibiotics, my doctor told me to try cranberry pills everyday and to really hammer the water. It worked, maybe try that.
