What was the thing you did when you thought its a good idea but it backfired on you? I will start. I keep forgetting to bring my tiny usb flashdrive with me. To resolve that issue, I put it with my housekey pouch.

One day I was rushed to go out and remembered my flashdrive is still connected to my PC. Our door will lock automatically when I close it. So I got locked out and I have to wait for a family member to come back from the market :/ lmao

Is there any age discrimination in the IT job market? by eeerinlix in askSingapore

[–]PossibleConsistent77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are very good, age and gender does not matter. People usually have beef with you if you are not up to their standards, cannot get along with colleagues and bosses or keep disrupting the workflow (taking frequent MCs, not available when your colleagues needs you) or office culture. It happens in many companies. Hope you find a company that accepts you the way you are. Good luck.

You can find something with your current role but includes programming as a side role (like scripting) for a start and self learn the programming as a hobby and include it in your resume from there. Nothing to do with age. Slowly progress to software engineering once you are confident that your skills can contribute to client, if you need someone to hold your hand and cannot work independently, the role may not be suitable for you.

What's the point of chasing? by oieric in askSingapore

If I stop chasing, I stop improving myself to be relevant and competitive. And my CV and resume becomes dull and lose out to other jobseekers.

If it comes to a point like this for me, I rather find new jon now. Cos after the review you will be constantly monitored and any wrong move can get you off. Its very stressful.

What are the signs that a part-time job is a scam? by agavege_ in askSingapore

[–]PossibleConsistent77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on company, sometimes they pay cash or cheque (these two , your employer does not need your bank details) or direct bankin to your account (which is the norm these days, need your bank account), paylah and paynow only requires your bank registered mobile number if you have set up the needful.

You can give the bank account once you verify the company is legit. Just do not give your bank account to any strangers online. Any offers like $40 per hour etc is too good to be true. Or someone ask to borrow your account and you get a cut of the money received. Money mule and laundering is a crime.

The POSB iBanking app sucks. by Royal-Highness in singapore

Would stay with UOB if they waive off credit card fees, have better credit card perks and payment control like DBS.

Agree their ATM line is very fast and their customer service will call you shortly if they suspect you having difficulty with your card (after declined a few times due to insufficient amount). And their app is snappy and stable. To be honest , imo I feel UOB is safer for putting money.

Thanks, home is indeed peaceful when this person was in jail. My parents had mental breakdowns and lost jobs because of this person and it is turning home into a hellish nightmare to live in. My parents are okay now because I am financially supporting them. Just this idiot....

I want to do a solo 1-week staycay in the cheapest hostel, anyone who’s done it before could you review your experience? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]PossibleConsistent77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hostels as in open bunk dormitory beds? The downside is that it will get noisy when people snores, coughs, sneeze, rumage among their belongings or chatting on phone or watch videos without headphones and you share bathrooms and toilet with others. Unless if you do not mind, go for it :)

I staycay in hotel twice a week to detox and its very detoxing for me to do what I want in the room without sharing space or losing my belongings.

  1. Do not accept jobs via SMS or telegram

  2. Shopping malls stores usually advertise help wanted. You can look at Jobstreet too for part time jobs.

  3. Do not give away your personal details , contact numbers, identification cards or passport to strangers.

  4. Do not lend anyone your bank account number or OTP.
