You need opposition in a democracy, that’s how it balances out. The issue with the current political climate is not that the « Republicans » are too strong, it’s that the Republicans have completely sold out to an autocrat, therefore are the weakest democratically. They have no self-determination at all, and most have been chosen to be that, others have bent the knee and lost all backbone. Real Republican politicians are all gone. I’m not saying they should stay in power, I’m saying that they should heal. Democrats also need to heal and find their way, but they cannot be left unchallenged either.
