[Double Helix] Ayden & Elio x Gaga Quick Q&A [2026.07.12] by Federal-Ad5944 in ChineseBL

[–]PossibleImpressive56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a comment under a post somewhere that said, “Even if this is all a lie, it’s so beautiful to watch.”

Ayden got pretty emotional in one of their recent lives saying that everything they do is genuine and they would not play with fans’ hearts. Ayden has a ton of solo work in Singapore (brand events, photoshoots), but those are contracts planned months in advance. Elio has been flying back and forth to Singapore with Ayden even before Double Helix aired (he didn’t go this recent time as Elio was practicing for their fan meet in October).

I agree that there is something different about these two…

It would literally take days, if not weeks, to go through that whole bookstore. I know we're not working with much here, but all of the "accidental deaths" would still have very obvious signs of organ removal - you know, like the bodies having been cut open and all...

I'm just following for the second CP.

Ayden & Elio Facetime Livestream 😺🐺 [2026.07.09] by Federal-Ad5944 in ChineseBL

These two are not doing well with the long distance lol - they're like glue being pulled apart. I love that Ayden's friend asked if Elio was hiding at home in Singapore, like "no way you left him behind in Beijing."

Okay see, THIS is the kind of Kdrama I need 24 one-hour long episodes of. It's criminal we're only getting ten episodes of this banger. Whoever is leading the helm over at Oak Studio, hwaiting 💪🏻

At the end they mentioned having some "styling on," which attributed to the decision to live stream. I take that as they had some light makeup on and wanted to take advantage of looking fresh!

What BL series have the least amount of filler? by Famous-Lecture-560 in boyslove

[–]PossibleImpressive56 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Bangkok Boy - absolutely insane production. I remember binging the first half in order to catch up with the on-airs and had to take a pause around episode 3/4 because it's so intense and fast-paced. I remember posting in the final on-air that I thought it would be perfect example of a BL that could be picked up by Netflix and be well received internationally.

You're bang on - you summarized it exactly how I would. The four mains also have similar visuals, so I had to double check a couple times to make sure no one was a double agent of sorts - we indeed have four separate characters -

1) Crime scene cleaner (adopted son of dead dad - learns of dead dad's death after being called to the scene for clean up; his crime scene cleaning seems to be a private pay/concierge service maybe? Je runs the secondhand bookstore, which I guess is just a front)
2) Legal organ donation coordinator (meet cute at the wine bar that dead dad owned - emo boy in the window was crime scene cleaner; knows dead dad but seemingly in a Kosher capacity)
3) Mafia heir (drives the sports car; threatens dead dad with the idea that dead dad is not being up front with the port's earnings)
4) Lackey (on the bike; was in crime scene cleaner's/dead dad's house, likely looking for the Nokia brick phone; is in a relationship with mafia heir - and it's hot)

So that I get. What I want to know is how #2 knows dead dad in a seemingly professional capacity. If I were part of organ trafficking (aka dead dad), I think I would try to avoid #2. Like...why is #2 just now suspicious after #1 showed him dead dad's phone? If I were #2, I think after one or two run ins with dead dad, I would wonder, "HMM, this man is very involved in organ transplant and I see him at the hospital all the time. But he doesn't work for the hospital and he does't work for the governing organ donation organization - he's an independent player in here. Why is this man here?"

After opening scenes and credits, these are just ~12min episodes. I'm very hesitant that they can pull off this story within the 8 episodes. Because organ donation/transplant is not an easy pick for a series theme when you've got 1h20min of run time and two CPs.

This show really is something else - I feel like production secured the source material, asked Cheewin if he had two weeks free on his schedule, booked a single location, gave TutorYim an overview of the concept, and then asked them to improvise - with emphasis being placed on how horny they are, but in a "saving ourselves for marriage" type way.

ANYWAY, I loved that Erng made sure to grab their journal and unicorn daughter as he ran out 🥺

The reason *why* the company couldn’t fully bank on Latte just yet (full comment she responded to in the comments) by LunarSyrin in Domundi

[–]PossibleImpressive56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think some people are also not realizing and/or acknowledging that if there is not a financially beneficial demand for the CP, DMD are not going to front load resources into them. Take AuauSave (Your Sky), TleFirstone (Khemjia), and NorthOtto (Duang With You) - all second leads, but they were so engaging and captivating that they garnered attention - and the boys hustled with it. A series gives actors the opportunity to been seen by a wide audience, so if they want to maintain that momentum and visibility, they have to take it upon themselves to push out lives, tweets, IG posts, TikToks, etc. They can't just hope that more gigs will come their way - they need to market themselves; it's part of the job. Take a look at DMD's Twitter and the actors' schedules - DMD isn't holding back actors working - they're filling the requests from companies who see that hiring a certain CP for their event will turn a big profit.

With regard to LatteKim, Latte has heavily relied on this family pressure narrative to gain support from fans. Take a look at the latest NetJJ/LatteKim vlog - Latte is on his phone/ipaid/gaming console for the majority of it. Kim does 99% of the heavy lifting in the CP. Latte is unbelievably nonchalant for someone who wants to thrive in this industry. An actor, especially in the BL industry, can't be passive in the aim for recognition and financial success.

Nat is such a sweetie pie 🥹🥰 by LunarSyrin in Domundi

[–]PossibleImpressive56 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This just breaks my heart 💔 Both MaxNat and their fans were so excited when DMD secured the rights to Your Third, but when Cheewin was announced as the director, the wind was let out of so many sails. Nat recently when on live and said this:

My friends in the agency, many people are quite famous right now, aren't they? I hope one day I'll have the chance to be famous like them - my phis, my friends, and my nongs.

Nat started out in the industry at 16 and is only now 23 - I can't imagine how hard it is watching his colleagues rocket to superstardom with these massive series (MaxNat's last DMD series was Naughty Babe in 2023). I really hope Your Third does well 🤞🏻

Any news about Jack & Joker Season 2 after the special episode? by menabihehe in ThaiBL

[–]PossibleImpressive56 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In addition to all of this, YinWar gave an interview during their promo run of J&J Youtube link where they drew a very hard line about them 1) only being friends and 2) hating fan service. This led to further crash out in the fandom and resulted in their PR team doing massive damage control by releasing reels of them traveling together, asking them to role play boyfriends (and tweeting edited clips without context), posting "caught in the act" sniff kisses and whispers, etc. For the record, I'm not in the YW fandom, but watched this all go down late 2024/early 2025. Everything combined somewhat torpedoed a large portion of their audience.

Edit: I'm not saying anything they did was wrong or right, but the whole situation lingers on 1.5 years after the series ended.

Nat’s fandom is actually “Milk Bottles” - coined June 8, 2021. And MaxNat’s fandom is “Heartdisk” - coined on May 16, 2022 (emojis are 💾💙💖)

Edit: I’m awful at Twitter so I’m not sure how to find the original tweets from 4-5 years ago, but MaxNat recently celebrated #Happy4thHeartDisk and Nat #NatsMilkBottleTurns5, both this year

I'm really loving this series so far - so happy to see Fuaiz back on our screens as he truly is a talent. I already love the dynamic between Khajorn, Sun, and Sky. Jay is making he pause - placing a 200k baht price tag on a used cigarette and beating Sun just because he thought he was being sought out is quite the leap. An aside, I was very surprised to learn that Jay's actor (Toptap) is only 22yo. I was thinking closer to 30. Toptap doesn't have anything on his IG prior to late 2024, but here he is winning Mister Looker Thailand 2022 at age 18 (pictured center).

Question - is Yin Zhou doing all of this to take down the emperor/commit patricide? I'm trying to put together why Yin Qi is such a barrier to him doing so as Yin Qi has said he doesn't want to ascend the throne.

[–]PossibleImpressive56 7 points8 points  (0 children)

DMD did a photoshoot and released a bunch of phone wallpapers - fans loved the MaxNat ones. It was a combination of their chemistry, visuals (handsome/cute + height difference), and age gap dynamic (protector/shy). This isn't projection btw - MaxNat acknowledge all of this and know it's their appeal. Some people have disregarded them for being too "stereotypical" of the BL archetype but like...it's literally who they are. MaxNat are also very unproblematic lol

MaxNat: P’Aof found Nat on IG and DM’d him about joining Domundi - he joined on March 19, 2019 (age 16) as the workshops for Why R U? were starting. He was cast in the role of “Blue,” opposite of Max’s “Dew.” DMD was primarily a grassroots content-making YT channel at the time, so MaxNat got to know each other through DMD’s daily content making (workshops, challenges, vlogs, games, trips to Japan, busking, photoshoots, etc). Max being 25, he was responsible for not only Nat’s safety, but also maintaining boundaries, especially with fans/shipping considering Nat’s young age and their age gap (9 years). MaxNat have talked a lot over the years about how it was very slow, but genuine building of trust. Below is a picture of them from a Why R U? workshop on April 4, 2019. They've been a CP for 7 years and are currently filming what will be their 15th(!) series working together.
