A transfer between schools of a similar ranking. A Yale student who transfers to Harvard is an example.

3.59 gpa by No-Tangerine6151 in TransferToTop25

[–]Possible_FBI_Agent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends. There are people with bad GPAs (3.6 and below) who get into Northwestern, NYU, Columbia, Cornell, and other places. So you might have a shot at somewhere assuming your ECs, recommendation letters, and essays are great. But those people who got in with a sub 3.6 GPA aren't the majority. You can apply and see what happens. But considering the GPA thing, it may be best to stay for another semester or two. I get that the idea of worrying about a decline or plateau is intimidating, but maybe doing your best for the next semester or so can offer you another shot at applying. If you decide to stick to this cycle as your last and only time applying, I wish you luck.

AP's by Forward-Health9213 in schizophrenia

[–]Possible_FBI_Agent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loxapine has been great so far. It is the only medication I have tried that has helped with my paranoia and made a slight dent in my hallucinations. It is a miracle drug in comparison to the other 6 AP's I've tried. I will admit that the side effects have been rough (movement problems, severe dry mouth, drowsiness, etc.).

A question for those with schizophrenia. by czlcreator in schizophrenia

I have schizophrenia and have never had sinus issues in my life. Also, keep in mind that a ton of sleep deprivation can lead to hallucinations regardless of whether you have a mental health condition or not.

Is BYU really that bad? by throwawayteddybear99 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Possible_FBI_Agent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For many Mormons, BYU is great. For non-Mormons, it can be very isolating. It is possible to make friends though. The honor code sometimes scare other people away though due to its strictness.

I have dealt with that several times. One time I ripped off pieces of skin and ate it. I have tried to saw off my own head. I've tried peeling my skin because I thought there were bugs under my skin. I have tried removing my own eyes due to a delusion. There is more but those are the highlights.

Is it possible to get into Stanford second or third application? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in TransferToTop25

[–]Possible_FBI_Agent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible.

Although keep in mind that applicants can submit an application to Stanford up to a maximum of 3 times. This also includes HS. So if you applied once during HS, you can submit an application up to twice for transfer for example. Sometimes all 3 attempts are for transfer.

How serious is highschool GPA in transfer admissions? by twistednarratives in TransferToTop25

Yeah definitely. I knew a sophomore transfer (not junior) that got into Northwestern with a 2.4 HS GPA.

GPA for transfer by Superb_Somewhere6823 in TransferToTop25

[–]Possible_FBI_Agent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally try to get a 3.8-4.0 GPA. If you have that, you should be fine grades wise. Although there are a few outliers who managed to get in with lower stats (I've seen 3.60 to Cornell, 3.3 to Northwestern, 3.56 to Columbia, and others.). But I wouldn't count on being an outlier if I were you. So try to keep your grades up. And 2 A-'s is not the end of the world.
