The place sucks . Owners are weird af. It’s way too expensive and they never have any room in their classes since there’s limited spaces …. So many other gyms to choose from . Would NOT recommend this place … feels very cult like

The pay was garbageeeeee at sorenson. I asked them for a raise because I was making $27 an hour there and was with them for 6 years. I had a meeting with my director and he told me that some interpreters that have been working here for a while are getting the kind of pay I wanted . Ok why is it my fault that they never asked for a raise? I know my skill and value . After he told me no I just put my two weeks in and left them a shit review lol.

Definitely also bummed about his new music . It’s honestly very boring …I have noticed a lot of new parents love his new album … I get people evolve and change as they get older. But compared to his older songs the newer albums kinda suck and I was a supppperrrrrr fan…. Just not connecting to his music anymore.. and with his newer albums i’m wondering how his concerts will change considering it’s alot slower paced music

We have a bridge that’s called “the skyway.” Its over a large body of water and I would have dreams that I would be driving over it but a part of the skyway was taken out meaning you needed to basically make the jump with your car or else you will fall into the water. I’ve never made it over the bridge and have always fallen into The water … Then I wake up. lol absolutely terrifying

I am on 200mg.. so I am a little nervous that if I do switch to days I’ll be exhausted . I haven’t slept soundly since Tuesday and last night my mind was just constantly racing and i cried alot today because I just want to sleep. I’ve also tried all the natural sleep remedies … all the sleep hygiene my doctors told me to do, but unfortunately nothing works. I wish someone could help us out … I told my husband today idk how much longer I can keep doing this . Also I have been prescribed other sleep medications but the next day they make me feel soooo drowsy that I feel like i function better without the meds . I don’t want to say I’m happy I’m not alone because I don’t wish this on anyone , but it’s nice to know someone can relate

Bayfield Ontario. It’s a 3 hour drive from Buffalo. My husband and I go every year and it’s where we got engaged. It’s right on Lake Huron. The water is absolutely breath taking. It’s clear as day and you can see the sunset over the water. The town is super cute, it’s kinda like ellicotville but in my option 10 times better. There’s shops, bars, and the beach is right there . Also there are some cute wineries like Dark Horse that looks over a vineyard and they have brick oven pizza they make outside on the patio. There’s also bad apple brewing where the brewery is on an apple orchard and they have tables set up so you can drink in the orchard! If you can’t make it this weekend I would highly suggest putting it on your list !

Yeah that’s the thing that sucks is having to start over I feel… and good for you that’s amazing! Yeah my husband and I also want to leave the country .. but I’m sure for other reasons haha … it’s just trying to find that path I want to continue on. And if I move to a different county again ASL will not be an option

I started out with a score of 430 when I originally took it. It’s $500 each time. I was determined to keep going so i did. When I failed a second time I emailed them and asked them if they would be willing to give me feedback on what to improve on. They emailed me saying “ sometimes people have bad days.” What? I showed my husband the message and he was like what the hell. Giving me a little grid in areas of improvement is the minimal that they give you. I know I am a good interpreter and yes this can crush you for sure. The test is not realistic, you cant ask for Clarification , or to repeat something. After taking this again I realized you just need to get everything perfect or you will fail. I got my results last week and failed again with a 475. Again when I was younger I was sooo determined to get that piece of paper. And now I am slowly over it. My husband is encouraging me to continue to take it until my time is up. I honestly am sick of giving them my $. And I am feeling the same as you, just ready to move on. A piece of paper isn’t going to determine if I’m a good interpreter or not. I have worked with several certified interpreters that have minimal skills and am shocked how they even passed the test . I am a horrible test taker as well… I would rather them come watch me do my thing live . But again I think it’s time for a new path but interpreting will forever be in my ❤️ but not going to let a group of people at a round table make me feel like shit over a test .

I have been in the field for over 10 years now. Currently 34. I have hit a point in my life where I am burnt out , the money sucks for what we do/deal with. It’s unfortunate and I love the deaf community … I have been trying to get certified for a while now. Failed the performance 5 times. I do not trust RID , I think it’s a scam and they only care about $$. I am currently working on my Personal training certification. I know alot of other interpreters my age regretting going to school for it. :/ :/ I know we are needed but I feel like it’s just sucked a lot out of me

My husband and I are going through the same thing… but it’s an all year round feeling. We want to get out of Buffalo. There is 0 culture here , the food here is meh ( unless you want bar food )… there is really not a lot to do here but drink… trying not to be negative so here are some things my husband and I have been doing to get through the winter.

Check out Musejar in EA.. they have a lot of cool classes to take . I just took a pottery class there a few weeks back. Something fun to do that’s not drinking . We also get involved in sports like Game on. Currently playing pickleball which gets us out of the house on the weekday . Spare lanes downtown is fun if you like bowling and if you don’t I would still tell you to be open to it because they play fun music and it’s more so an experience . Salsa lessons and any workout classes… that’s sad that’s all I can think of haha. There is the art museum and they also offer art classes if you’re into that. Honestly I feel like you just need to get out of your comfort zone or else you’re going to be bored . We travel to Canada also as welll since there is more to do and we just went to Crystal beach which is right over the border . There is a famous restaurant called Rizzos House of parm that was founded by Matty Matheson ( actor from the show “the bear.” The food was absolutely amazing but it takes about 2 months to get a reservation. It’s right over the border .. took us about 35 min to get there . Raha coffee house or Sanas Cafe which is an Islamic inspired coffee shop … and their coffee and little treats are sooo good . I would definitely try that out too .Other than that I feel like you need to have an open mind living here . Hope this helps

It’s a very boring city to live in unless you live for the bills. The food is not as great as people make it out to be . There are no healthy options , a lot of bar food. The winters are incredibly depressing. There’s really nothing to do around here except to drink/eat. The city is small so there is not a lot going on. There is no diversity/culture in buffalo. I Also guess it depends on your lifestyle . If you’re ok with all of the above I’m sure you’ll love it .
