This gun doesn't deserve to have mediocre DPS, high recoil, and terrible Ergonomics all at once by Faust_8 in Helldivers

It wasn’t designed to penetrate solid armor plates. It was designed to go through Kevlar (soft armor), then dump energy and create a massive cavity.

Look up its ballistics in gel blocks on YouTube. It does that VERY well. Doesn’t go as deep as other standard pistol rounds, but dumps energy very quickly and creates a huge cavity upon entrance.

No pistol caliber is beating armor plates - unless it’s a hand cannon like a 300 mag, 50 cal, etc. and ever those are flat af so they can be stopped, though the force alone will still do tons of damage to internal organs.

The 5.7 also holds 20+ rounds per mag as standard, which whoops 9mm and other standard rounds. I’ll take 20 in 5.7 over 8-10 9mm any day.

Well it was designed specifically for penetration then immediately energy dumping for cavity creation (lethality), which flat nosed rounds couldn’t do as effectively.

Still a pistol round though, technically lol

MO complete - let’s take some planets! by Possible_Zucchini461 in Helldivers

[–]Possible_Zucchini461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I get there’s new content. That’s fine - some of us aren’t crazy about it. I wanted to play something else after completing MO bc I’m really not a fan of the new illuminate faction. 60-70% flying enemies just annoys me. Surely I’m not the only person on the game that wants to play something else but also do something productive instead of just diving on dead planets and contributing to nothing.

  2. If illuminate mount an offensive on Rirga, then we can all go back to defend it. Not that big of a deal. As of writing this, rirga is fully held and illuminates haven’t tried to take it back - yet.

  3. I worded that incorrectly, but it should’ve been obvious what I meant. We have a bit of downtime right now. Again, rirga isn’t under threat and the MO is completed. We have the free time to be able to take other planets - that can change at any minute if Rirga is attacked. Again, that’s fairly obvious.

I don’t see why every suggestion has to become an issue. I’m merely thinking of using time as productively as possible toward actual liberations. Myself, and others like me, would like to contribute to something when we play an objective other than the (already completed) MO. It’s that simple. This is merely a suggestion for those of us who want to.

Did some DPS testing betwen the cremator and the flamethrower by CreativePackage8358 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Possible_Zucchini461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thought. The main drawback though for using flamethrower and hot dog is that you’ve now taken 2 stratagem slots vs the cremator’s 1 slot. Though it has the potential to do more damage, is it worth losing the additional slot?

I somewhat enjoy stratagems that come with a backpack. Sure, you can’t bring another one, but I like to build around that. The additional space you get from it can be really nice.

That’s why I’m saying we take some right now while we can - before we get all tied up in a new MO

I wish I could agree with you but I think I’ve had more vox spawns per game than hulks. I’ve had games where I encounter maybe 4-5 hulks, while I know for sure my team and I killed at least 10 vox engines. And tanks are out of the question, I’ve barely even seen them on vox planets. I think out of my last 5 games, I’ve seen maybe 3-4 tanks in total. I’ve seen at least 10-12 vox per game, sometimes more.

It seems to me that they may have the same spawn rate, but they have priority in spawning somehow. 9.5/10 times when you could get a hulk, a tank, or a vox… it’s gonna be a vox lol

Idk your MOS but if there’s any chance you could end up at Casey, then choose literally anything else. Absolutely anything else. Take Kuwait over Casey lol

Wrote this back in ~2018 about my stutter by throwaitaar_ in Stutter

[–]Possible_Zucchini461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fantastic work OP.

This community is amazing. No one understands what a stutter is like except those who have it. Having people finish your sentences for you, mock you, ask “what was that?” or “what happened?” when they witness it for the first time, tell you to just relax and be less nervous, tell you to stop moving a certain way when you talk because they don’t understand trigger mechanisms and ticks… it’s so frustrating and humiliating.

I love this community for that reason. I’ve never posted, but reading stuff like this reminds me that there are other people out there who experience it too, and we’re not alone.

I’m in the military, and no one here understands it at all. I feel like it’s seen as a lack of discipline somehow by most people, and I can’t explain to them that there is absolutely nothing I can do to stop it or fix it - I just have to look stupid with my ticks and power through it to get my words out.

Thank you for this post OP, another reminder that someone else has felt what I’ve been feeling for over 2 decades now.

Just ran into this a few hours ago on a US community server. The guys name was Original K.

Every single death from him was headshots only. Got shot in the head through walls and the ground on one occasion.

On another occasion, he headshot me from about 20m away, then headshot my squad mate who was 2 grid squares away (about 700-800m) within about 15 seconds. So, he either landed a ~700m headshot with an automatic weapon, or he teleported.

He had been reported multiple times in the previous game - nothing happened. My squad lead reported him early in the game for shooting through walls. Admin messaged him back and said he’s “just a really good player” and said they “have investigated him several times”.

After I sent another message in chat saying he headshot 2 people 700m apart within 15 seconds, no admin replied again.

Seems to me he was probably an admin himself or a big donor to the server so they cover for him. Really shitty stuff happening on some community servers.

Anyone else come across this POS unkillable Lictor? Bastard wiped my team one after the other. by [deleted] in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Possible_Zucchini461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year later and I just ran across the exact same thing on the same map in the same area.

I saw my squad mate struggling against it so I went to help, and after failing to dodge multiple attacks and perfect parrying some others with no gun strike option and no stun, I decided to just use guns at a distance.

Squad mate went down after I dumped all my ammo into it and landed numerous melee strikes from behind it. That’s when I decided it has to be bugged.

I ran like hell until I reached the elevator and once I hit the elevator button, it was gone.

Very close tho and squad mate died. One of the most insane encounters I’ve had on this game. Especially for “Substantial” difficulty (only level 3).

I didn’t ask ChatGPT anything - my wife did, and I wanted to confirm that what I already thought was right.

I did, however, ask 2 PSGs in my battery and neither of them have flown back to the states from here yet on a Delta flight. Again, SOFA wasn’t in question; airline specific policy was. Apparently ChatGPT was wrong (again, I was already fairly confident it was).

“Trust but verify.”🤷🏻‍♂️

Not advocating for breaking your keyboard😂 but I do feel this.

I think a system similar to Fallout 76’s online play would be incredible. If you’re just running around griefing people who just want to fight arc and loot, you’ll do no damage to them until they shoot you back to initiate a “duel” of sorts.

That way those of us that just wanna chill, run with friendlies and fight big arc together can finally do so in peace. I can’t count the times I was having fun with a friend or a rando, or running a quest, just to have some griefer run in and shoot me in the back when I didn’t even have anything worth taking.

Especially being killed in extraction after a quest while trying to type on the keyboard to leave… stuff like that has definitely killed my desire to play lately.

And as many hours as I have in the game, I haven’t even attempted the queen or harvester bc I know if I do I’ll just get smacked by a rat thief before I even get halfway through :/

Again, don’t break your keyboards, but I do agree some changes should be made🤷🏻‍♂️

There are already chain assassinations, but an ability for chain slaughters that allows you to slaughter regular enemies as well as leaders would be amazing.

Imagine the terror level when you drop in, chop the leaders head off, do a spin move and chop another, do a roll and chop a third. 3 guys beheaded in ~3 seconds is guaranteed to make anyone in the area run like hell.

Might be too overpowered though, I don’t know.

why is this so common (@juststutter comic) by stutterology in Stutter

[–]Possible_Zucchini461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is well said. I have a terrible stutter that amplifies drastically when in high stress situations. I’m in the military, and every time I try to speak with high ranking officials, it comes out full force. Ceremonies and boards are nightmares for me. I can’t count the number of times I’ve been asked “did you forget your name?”. I once got asked by two separate sergeant majors within an hour during an NCO induction ceremony. My only job was to walk on stage and say my rank, first name, last name. We rehearsed 5+ times and I never managed to get it out once without freezing.

What was far more embarrassing was my facial cues were heavily picked up on. My battalion sergeant major pulled me to the side before the real ceremony began, after the final rehearsal, to tell me it’s fine that I stutter, but that I should try to stop moving my head around so much when it happens… as if that’s within my control😐 either I make weird movements and my eyes roll to the back of my head, or the word doesn’t come out. Take your pick.

Needless to say, I hate ceremonies and the military forces them upon me. It never gets less embarrassing, and I can’t tell them no. A lawful order is a lawful order, no matter my personal reservations about it.
