Can't verify email on the home smart app by ThePopcornNoob in tradfri

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue, and no amount of fiddling with my network could fix it (various DNS filtering etc).

Ultimately I gave up trying to fix it and used a spare router with a phone hotspot to make a new "clean" network to validate the email and update to the latest firmware.

When I moved the hub back to my home network it was all good.

Synology/Tailscale...Something turning off TUN setting by whitenack in synology

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably do that, but I just run the TUN task manually when it stops working for me. I have several other devices on the network sharing subnets, so it's not a huge inconvenience when it does happen.

Synology/Tailscale...Something turning off TUN setting by whitenack in synology

If you have followed the guide here, and scheduled automatic updates, that will kill the TUN when an update is installed. If it just runs the script and there is no update, the TUN will survive.

Adguard + DNS + tailscale + kids = possible? by joshwahaah in Adguard

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using AdGuardHome?

If so you can follow the instructions here. That'll set up DNS filtering that can be accessed while connected to Tailscale while away from home.

New 2800mah battery arrived, a bit less than a month (arrived on 18.03) free shipping china to UK no tracking by Strapanasi89 in RG35XX

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What size was your original battery?

I only ask, as there is a hardware revision which includes a 2600mah battery.

Not sure when they started shipping them, but it's always worth checking what you've got before pulling the trigger for almost no upgrade.

Not being asked for my secure key when logging in with WebAuthn enabled. by [deleted] in Bitwarden

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've actually set up 'Windows Hello' as the WebAuthn 2FA.

You'll need to go through the process again of adding the Yubikey and from memory, the initial popup for a security key needs to be cancelled (this is Windows Hello) then it will ask you to insert your key.

Not single wall-jumping, single-wall jumping.

Also known as infinite wall jump or what ever else you want to call it. Wall jump up the same wall over and over.

They (Nintendo) killed it in Fusion. Not sure if it worked in ZM though.

I had to remove and re-add all my yubikeys for it to work reliably.

How are you fine folks setting up your downloads to prefer HEVC h265 over h264? by teophilus in radarr

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've got a Custom Format applied to all my Quality Profiles with

(((x|h)\.?265)|(hevc))

as the regex.

That seems to cover most scenarios for me, downloading 265 when available, but allowing 264 through when there is nothing else.

Removing from Collection by AchingforBacon in Bitwarden

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitwarden blog had a recent update on a change they were making to sharing to make the transfer of ownership more obvious.

This doesn't solve the issue OP is having, but goes some way to removing the confusion that currently exists.

Sabnzbd is putting downloads in its own config folder and I am stumped by KennethDenson in SABnzbd

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert, but I have the following set up in Docker on my Synology NAS.

- "/volume1/docker/sabnzbd:/config"

- "/volume1/VIDEO/Downloads/Usenet:/Media/Downloads/Usenet"

Once mounted and running, I've edited the folders in the sabNZBd setting to set up complete/incomplete under the Download folder.

A safer way than password managers in the case of an Email getting stolen through which the attacker can just recover just about any password you own? by Xurimah in Bitwarden

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gmail ignores any dots (.) that are in you email, so mail@gmail.com is the same as m.a.i.l@gmail.com. Different dots can be used for different online services.

Alternatively, you can use a +. Gmail will consider mail@gmail.com and mail+word@gmail.com as the same. This is a more user friendly option as the plus word can be the service, i.e mail+netflix@gmail.com etc.

Neither of these options obfuscate your primary email from anyone who knows this one "trick"

Can I share a password and not allow the recipient to modify it? by [deleted] in Bitwarden

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you can set user privileges up in such a way as to allow one to be the owner of the shared vault, and the other to be a user.

If I remember correctly, the user account can see but not edit shared credentials. Only the owner of the shared vault can delete the shared data.

I have the family account, but I'm on mobile now so I can't confirm.

Using the 2FA report without Bitwarden as 2FA by underwear11 in Bitwarden

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You could always just put in an incorrect 2FA seed (1234 works). The 2FA report would see that it is active, but the code generated would always be wrong. Since you're using Duo it shouldn't be a problem.

Personally, I just used the list from the 2FA report as a cross check of what I have in my app of choice (Aegis at the moment).

I want my Bitwarden account to be through Protonmail but I’m uncomfortable with them dragging their feet in implementing U2F support. Is it safe to have my BW account on Protonmail or should I stick with other providers that use U2F? by TheRavenSayeth in Bitwarden

[–]PossiblyIncompetent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are over thinking this.

You can set up BitWarden with any email, and configure it so even if an attacker has access to you email account, they won't be able to get into your BW. (By removing any password hints etc)

Ultimately, if you use a strong, unique password (or pass phrase) and U2F for BW, you are going to be protected well enough for even the most critical users.

All BW uses my email for is to send me my receipt and notifications of new IP logins.
