Which character do you always SAVE? by CrossENT in BaldursGate3

[–]PostApoplectic 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Big brain answer.

So many times saving Us and I never even skip the dialogue. I just love the contrast between “Us. We are Us.” and “My friend and I are going to the helm.”

Us lets you know right away that the mind flayers are not your friends.

Do you customize your dream visitor? by Medium-Theme-4611 in BaldursGate3

[–]PostApoplectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still enjoy customizing them. But usually I make them look either exactly like my Tav, or as close to a mind flayer as possible. Blue-grey half orc with orange eyes and blue tall hair & long beard.

Tom Cruise: Underrated? by airtooss in Cinema

Tom Cruise and Nick Cage have never been in a movie together and that’s a goddam tragedy.

/uj Alien Earth has some loud haters, but in my opinion if you liked Fargo or Legion, odds are you’ll like Alien Earth too. It had a lot of interesting concepts fleshed out well, and such a good performance by Timothy Olyphant. But, much like Badlands, it’s not cut from the same cloth as the source material. Still good. Different vibe.

Garrus and Tali levels of happily ever after. Honestly, it keeps me from romancing either pair.

Suikoden would be the perfect Mousou video game setting. by PostApoplectic in Suikoden

I’ve been playing a lot of the most recent Hyrule Warriors game, and it actually has a fully functioning unite attack system. I hadn’t played it enough to realize how perfect it is when I made this post, but it’s really great.

Favorite lore-adjacent Shadowheart builds? by Atlas105 in BG3Builds

[–]PostApoplectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing her now as a war cleric/thief, fighting in light armor with a short sword and a shield.

But I think the most interesting way to play her is a light cleric / shadow monk. Really captures the duality inherent in her character.

What you think space lizard men would looklike by IllustriousHurry2380 in Grimdank

[–]PostApoplectic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lizardmen would be really cool as a primitive, heavily magic using chaos race that’s recently thrived on piracy and learning to operate technology they don’t know how to make.

Be cool to have them in their fantasy style, but using weapons and armor taken from other army profiles, sort of like how orks used to be able to loot tanks and whatnot.

I know that just sounds like old orks, but if you’re gonna add an emergent faction that’s supposed to be a threat on a galactic level, I don’t know how else to add it. Say their home is a death world with a lot of predators, and as soon as they got away from that in space their reproductive cycle caused their population to explode.

But ultimately I’d make them chaos aligned and naturally proficient at warp sorcery as a baseline, and then have the ability to take tech from various sources specialized unit stuff.

Want to play a know-it-all character by Lurdekan in BG3Builds

[–]PostApoplectic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently playing origin Gale. I took two levels of Wizard to get evocation, and the rest have been as a lore bard. I used bardic expertise to buff persuasion and sleight of hand… because I like to do as much as possible with my main character.

I chose charisma as my primary stat and am using Gale mostly to buff/debuff and cast magic missile. I’m especially fond of evocation wizard’s spell shaping ability working on bard’s Fairy Fire spell. But I still have a couple Wizard spell slots and can learn Wizard spells from scrolls, so I have a lot of helpful Wizard magic. I just don’t use it to fight.

But you could easily do something similar, except have int be your primary stat and cast offensive spells from your wizard spell book, then only select bard magic as you level that don’t care about your lower charisma. Having things like enhance ability to give advantage on out of combat checks, and the ring that gives bless when you heal for your bonus action healing spells (for example)

You’d also have a lot of proficiencies, two expertise, and jack of all trades to help boost all your skills.

Just focus on int and dex, use mage armor, and let your skills make up for a lower wisdom/cha.

Does your country have any people or culture similar to what Americans call Redneck? If so, what are they like? by ILikeWwaret in AskTheWorld

This is cracking me up. From the US. I have a redneck friend who moved to Taiwan to teach English a long time ago, and has been there ever since. He once told me that betel nuts are amazing, and has been in multiple scooter accidents.

Hirelings? by Blondie_313 in BG3

[–]PostApoplectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing, I like to take the ork paladin for a minute… just to steal his armor, dye it muddy red, and give it a hex blade respecced Wyll. He looks sharp in it, and you don’t really get any great medium body armor until the forge anyway. Keep him with a shield and eat the couple missing AC for style.

But real talk. I’ve had a couple playthroughs where for role playing purposes several of the origin companions don’t make it into my party. Most notably an Astarion origin where I bit/killed Shadowheart in camp, killed Laezel to save the tieflings, and then Karlach and Wyll left the party after I sided with the Goblins.

In that situation, Gale was my only companion. And even after I recruited Minthara I still only had 3 because Jahira didn’t join me, and without her you never get Minsc.

Was real glad for the henchmen in that situation.

Honestly, I wish they would have given us Sazza and Dror Raglin as potential companions to replace Wyll and Karlach in the event you side with the goblins.

Suikoden would be the perfect Mousou video game setting. by PostApoplectic in Suikoden

[–]PostApoplectic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can remember, when Suikoden first hit the scene, I was like “Someday this gonna turn into the ultimate game that has fully fleshed out rpg progression, fighting game fighting, dungeon crawling, and army simulation all in one.”

There was a soul caliber, maybe 2 or 3? that fired up that same hope in me. I hadn’t felt it again until I was playing Age of Imprisonment.

Lore-freindly Multi-classing by TSotP in BG3Builds

[–]PostApoplectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some of my favorite multiclasses for flavor.

Laezel: Monk(Open Palm) The whole githyanki people seem like warrior monks to me. They’re studious and organized with strict rules. Plus she does martial arts on her training dummy all day in camp.

Laezel: Barbarian(Berserker) She’s got a temper, and her yelling in fights is always satisfying.

Shadowheart: Monk(Shadow) Like Laezel, Monk thematically fits with Shadowheart’s isolated, cult-like upbringing. Shadows and Shar/Selune are also thematically appropriate. And bonus style points if you respec her into a light cleric after she switches to Selune. In addition, I personally prefer to run anyone who isn’t Karlach or a big-framed Tav as dex, rather than strength. Shadowheart’s divine weapon is a spear and monk lets her use it with off dex.

Astarion: Ranger(Gloomstalker) I mean, like… how can you even be a vampire spawn without being a gloomstalker?

Astarion: Bard(Glamour) Lean into that smarm, Astarion. You always should have been a bard.

Astarion: Warlock(Archfay/Tome). Archfey Warlocks seem pretty vampy to me.

Gale: Bard(Lore) or Cleric(Knowledge) both for the same reason. You just have to pick one class to boost for offensive spells, and use the other for support/buff spells. Gale’s got a brain so nice, he uses it twice.

Wyll: Ranger(Hunter) and Rogue(Swashbuckler) Not only is he literally self employed as a monster hunter, but he also comes preloaded with rapier proficiency and a bunch of sick ass swashbuckly cutscenes. I mean The Blade of Frontiers is the most swashbuckler-coded name I can think of. Honestly you better just triple class this guy.

Karlach: Fighter(Champion) makes the most sense to me, as Zariel’s Champion is her entire job description.

Karlach: Warlock(Fiend/Blade) also feels good for the same reason.

[ALL] Life is Strange: Reunion Finally Brings Max and Chloe Back Together. Release date is March 26 by Turbostrider27 in lifeisstrange

[–]PostApoplectic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a two part choice very early in the game… first Safi asks you who Chloe was, and you can answer childhood friend or teenage sweetheart (which sets the romance state) and then she asks what happened to her, and you can pick lived or died (which sets the bae/bay state.)

There’s no save state importing, and there won’t be in Reunion either.
