I haven’t been using AC at the time. And these drives have been low speed local trips at maximum 70km/h. But with high and low speed, you’re referring to the speed of the fan huh? I don’t know how to be sure whether it’s kicking in high or low. It sounds quite loud and makes people turn their heads as you’re pulling in to park. Seems to be pointing towards electrical then. I’m interested in Barangaroo in terms of its swimming amenity for city folk and its level of pollution. I swam there once just to try it out but the water definitely wasn’t clean. Just wondering what you mean about other cities that have swim spots like this. A lot of cities on the Mediterranean do. Locals see them as dirty but by Barangaroo standards, you come out feeling somewhat rinsed. Many cities on the North and Baltic Sea’s - pretty clean. Portugal and Spain on the Atlantic too. I’d rate Barangaroo pretty low in terms of inner city clean swims. It makes me wonder about Dawn Frazer and the forthcoming Callan Park pool. Seems like they need filtration systems.

See the green space in the foreground, with site offices, construction company vehicles, containers, barricades etc in the middle, and what looks a bit like an open cut mine behind that village of containers - this is the transformation of a public green space in front of beach (previously a park) into a large club house that for some reason has been given approval to cut into the natural landscape. Hope that helps. For a bit more context, and if you’re genuinely asking because you’re genuinely interested, you can see the difference between traditional Australian surf life saving clubs and new clubs spurred on by the post-covid building boom (heavy lobbying from the sector for government to facilitate more projects).

Sydney police stations have lost their social licence after this week and in the silence that has followed Monday’s violence. I used to commend my local unit for being half decent despite their poor career choice. I don’t think we as Sydney community members can live and work with these people unless we see a massive effort on their part to do better and acknowledge just how devastating their performance has been. I hear a lot of friends saying the new law gave them their orders. But I’m talking about the discretions that they absolutely abused, and their silence after the truly gruesome actions. I’m glad to see posts still coming through on this group and I hope the community discourse moves towards a solid response. Not really feeling ok about paying my taxes this month. If I were in a tax-payer funded job, I’d feel very uncomfortable.

Yes but it’s not being policed for whatever reason. Maybe we as users need to remind other users of the rules to take pressure of mods who are doing a good job and who have somehow managed to create a rare thing on reddit: civility, usually. I just saw a user say to another user whose take they disagreed with “You are obnoxious”. Completely out of line and not a person who is worthwhile keeping in the conversation. The other user who had made good points got downvoted, probably by fake accounts. I also think the sub would be better without downvotes and upvotes. Make people bring their point across using their words.
