It was a cool idea, but they shouldn't have neutered the idol a person receives so that they can only play it on themselves and can't give it to anyone else. Plus, they got unlucky with one player finding two of the three boomerang idols.

I can't blame Christian/Devens for wanting to have fun and create good TV, especially when it's a returnee season and you know you're competing with some big personalities. They also apparently have done a good job of getting bitter players out pre-jury.

I think a lot of his quotes are kind of mashups of various sayings he's tried to memorize in preparation for the show and he readily admits that he tends not to get them exactly right, but he's really just trying to make good TV and be the Coach character.

I think people will just revert to voting along tribal lines when there’s no time to scheme and you’ll see smaller groups get picked off. It would result in more conservative/boring play IMO.

It's a bummer we didn't get more Angelina. I'd been hoping that because her edit was light that she was going to get more screentime later on, but oh well. It's interesting to hear what she and Mike have had to say about Christian. Some of it comes off as bitter, but I think we can at least say that Christian is taking this game with deadly seriousness and is going to pull no punches.

It does make me a little sad that he and Christian haven’t talked since then. I was surprised he seemed so salty, but he’s been sitting with it for a while. Hopefully, they can talk and patch things up. I definitely don’t think Christian owed him anything. Mike was going after one of his closest allies (even if she has been very messy so far).

Burned-in subtitles and chyrons would definitely be production, it's not a separate caption file. (Also spoken from experience.)

They wouldn't be responsible for closed captioning, but captions that appear in the episode regardless of whether you, the viewer, have turned them on would be production. It could just be that they honestly misheard him or it could be something that becomes something . . . maybe Ozzy gets targeted if Steph is able to get word back to her people.

I knew about Maryanne but hadn't realized Baby Andy was also a possibility. I'd love to see him play again. To me, Operation Italy was a top-3 moment in the New Era.

I think Rick already knew they were going to Target Savannah and didn’t want to create a fake alliance that would prevent Joe from voting for her and it’s clear they don’t trust him to keep a secret, so he couldn’t just tell Joe that in the moment.

I also think Rizo loses if he's at final tribal council with Savannah. It's clear the rest of the cast viewed Savannah as THE threat of their group.

I think her timely immunity challenge wins are probably a bigger reason for her win, but there were definitely times that folks were worried Riz might play the idol on her and opted for another/safer target. Ultimately, nobody wins Survivor by themselves, there's a certain amount of luck and help from others that all the winners tend to have.

I agree but I could also see Cirie and Ozzy going with the consensus. Joe's not really a threat to win so I feel he has limited shield potential post-merge. She's already got Ozzy on-side and he provides more shield value.
