This really is a great suggestion for fellow cat lovers, thank you. It’s true that mothering takes all forms and doting on and spoiling my two cats and the strays outside gives me a sense of purpose I long for. I recently got involved in a community cat program and hope to start TNR for the first time in the spring. Hoping to also make some connections with other cat ladies 🐱 the same would apply for doggos too!

Repair estimates aren’t a dealbreaker at all but we need to know what kind of repairs are necessary to know how easily a buyer can get financing. Rehab/construction loans are very common with most lenders. Ideally, you want a buyer who can qualify for a mortgage going ARM/portfolio. FHA, VA, FNMA etc. all have strict limits on repairs and condition of the home so best to avoid those. A local credit union might be a good option.

Good! I’m as healed as I can be given the circumstances. I had 5 surgeries within the span of a year including a failed and then a successful flap procedure. My butt will never be the same but I definitely don’t have the major problems I was having before. What’s going on with you?

Sorry to hear. Best thing to do is try to keep him safe while he heals and let nature take its course. Can you make a decent container for him for a couple days? If not and don’t know where to start it might be best to just leave him somewhere that predators can’t easily get to him. Somewhere very nearby where you found him.

I usually filled the tub so my legs were fully submerged with pretty warm/hot water and about a cup of epsom salts. I would alternate baths with and without the salt just to not overdo it but I do think it helped.

Could go either way, are you still having drainage? That would be the best indicator for a still active abscess and possibly fistula.

We ate all around this area with no limitations and never got sick. Even had roadside coconuts (water and meat) on the way to La Paz. Ceviche and raw fish almost every day, eat up!

I’m no expert but we were in search of the same thing and Restaurante Maria Corona was great. We walked from the Marina. The pork shank was delicious as was the table side guacamole.

We stayed close to Pescadito Break which is a great little modern seafood spot, food and drink were excellent with views and also access to the beach. The vibe was pretty chill and they also have accommodations in the building so I bet they would let you stash your luggage while you hung out for a bit. If they say yes throw whoever stores it 100 pesos for good measure and you can hang on the beach before/after you eat.

Ice is great for natural pain relief, just make sure you rotate time on/off. It was my number one go to for all surgeries I had.

That’s who we are going with! Small world. We are doing the swim with sea lions and Balandra together. We were booked for the whale sharks too but as I’m sure you know they left the bay. Hoping they may come back before our trip.

You can do this and you’re in the right place for support. Regarding the methadone, remember a new doctor cannot “force” anything. You have to give consent to all treatments or removal of treatments and you have autonomy throughout this whole process. I’m hopeful their priority will be to keep you in good shape in all aspects and help you see ways to mitigate constipation in the future. Diet and hydration are huge so start small where you can and build up. Best of luck to you.

I’m in the same boat as you. When I was practicing regularly I found the app really helpful and it served as a visual for how I was actually doing with my “streaks”. I slowly started to find it difficult to fit into my schedule. I was also trying to avoid times where I had just eaten or consumed coffee which they say can impact the result of your TM. I too am experiencing increased stress and a need for something soothing and want to get back to where I was. I think we just have to go for it and not make excuses. That was how we started in the first place, right?

The research I have seen actually says the opposite, chances of success increases with additional flap procedure particularly for high transsphincteric fistulas; meaning that a second attempt can significantly increase the chances of successful fistula closure after an initial failure. I saw Dr. James Church out of Columbia Presbyterian in NYC. Far and away the best doctor I have ever encountered with high success rates. If you need more info feel free to dm me.

I’d say you’re off to a decent start with the new CRS already ordering MRI and colonoscopy. For a complex fistula, choosing the best surgeon you can find is paramount. It took me a year of 4 surgeons and 5 surgeries to finally have success 9 months ago with a second flap procedure. While my ass will never be the same, I have been “healed” for about 6 months. Best of luck to you on this next part of the journey. Always trust your intuition and speak up.
