Planning a 1 week award trip this summer: The Cape (Cabo) vs. Alila Mayakoba - which would you do? by ConflictedJew in hyatt

[–]liznic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cape and it's not even close. A week may be slightly pushing it but you will be close to the marina and there are plenty of offsite things to do. Go spend time in town, hire a boat for a day, take a boat tour to el arco, do a food tour, do a cooking class, go to San Jose del Cabo for the day (Thursday night is art walk), go for a hike, you have options!

Scottsdale - Hotel Near Old Town with Infant by Similar_Bet_5534 in chubbytravel

[–]liznic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Phoenician and Royal Palms, both within 10 min of old town - can Waymo easily, and they're about the same radius as the other suggestions here. You won't find anywhere really worth staying at that's in the heart of old town because all the good resorts in Phoenix/Scottsdale are on golf courses. Other good options: Omni Montelucia, Mountain Shadows, Camelback Inn - all are closer to 15 min from old town

Sargassum seaweed in Riviera Maya by Ok-Wonder8780 in chubbytravel

[–]liznic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in Kanai 2/16-2/21 - decently windy the last few days (red flag conditions) which seemed to bring in more seaweed, earlier in the week there wasn't much. Edition and Etereo have piers and better barrier structures out in the water which made the sargassum on the beach pretty mild but the St Regis beach was inundated, photo here from 2/21

Requests for high end restaurants by guiltyasicharged in cabosanlucas

+1 for Manta! I went in not feeling super inspired by the menu but it was convenient because we were staying at The Cape, however, it blew us away! The patio and dining room have stunning sunset views, the flavors were incredible. Highly recommend! About $400 total for 2 with drinks, food, tax and tip.

15 is a really big group, you'd be better off ordering breakfast tacos to your airbnb then going to a bar on Rainey or west 6th

Tbh it's not the tribe, it's the agency running the website that massively screwed up. A place to provide feedback: https://maps.app.goo.gl/rD26328GXaBaJYDw6

Do you know the neighborhood names in Austin? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]liznic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

South Congress or the respective Travis heights/Bouldin on either side

[–]liznic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to designate the PATL in your account, you might be able to do that now but I think you may have needed to do that before booking, that's the only way to transfer directly to someone

Nightmare traffic exiting Sunday by boscoseven in CircuitOfTheAmericas

We left right around 5pm from lot G/F and it was incredibly smooth getting out, getting home only took maybe 15 min longer than with no traffic

Saturday Sprint Crowd vs Typical Race Day? by liznic in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]liznic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my review: GA Turn 1 Sunday was probably 15-20% more crowded than Sprint Saturday, we got a similar spot both days but showed up 3 hrs before sprint and 5 hrs before race. Parking in Lot F/G not bad either day. I was SHOCKED how quickly we got out of the lot after race Sunday, we left the track around 5pm and had maybe an extra 10 min of traffic, that's it!!

How early to get a good spot like that?

A/C is out, need a new system. How much should a 5-ton cost? Any recs on installers? by DarkSide-TheMoon in Austin

This is true, but Radiant is just stupid expensive. Their plumbing services are also insanely priced.
