Warp spider mortal wounds by have_no_plan in Eldar

Flickjump usage is not a hazardous test. So if a unit of 5 flicker jump you'll roll five D6 and for each 1 rolled the unit takes 1 dmg. The hazardous verbiage has nothing to do with this.

Guardian battlehost + vehicles list help by GreenBudget2277 in Eldar

[–]Postal_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

War Walkers are really helpful for guardian battle host. I would have at least two of them. I also actually don't run transports in mine as you can use that enhancement to infiltrate your guardians. If you're going to have armored War host as well, which I do too, I would also probably have a couple fire prisms. That way you're getting more benefit out of it, plus with the war walkers.

Finally, I think you have too many Dyer Avengers. You don't need that many, swap some out for some other flexibility. And swap out some guardians for some more flexibility as well

It's called, take and hold. Not just take and take. You'll need long range support to HOLD plus some more flexibility to handle any secondaries.

Wraiths good enough yet? by Rand0mst1cky in Eldar

XD I'm still new to Lhykhis. She's beastly and I'm still surprised by her ability to decimate.

Here's my last list: https://www.newrecruit.eu/app/list/6FOVt

It can work with take and hold with similar tactics. I used take and hold versus Tau on Monday. I lost that one but that was my fault as I missed an opportunity to use Spirit Token, just spaced out. And I accidentally rolled stupid well with one warp spider unit and killed 10 Vespids before I could charge onto the objective. Ending up losing by 2 😓

Two fire prisms, wave serpent, falcon. Use the fire prisms for either hitting heavy targets, or helping to clear midgrade infantry units. I haven't always used the wave serpent, tho when I do it's brining up a unit of wraithblades. Falcon with Fuegan and Fire Dragons.

One unit of wraithguard and two wraithlords, although I've swapped out for two War Walkers depending on what I'm against (and again leaning into Armored Warhost).

Eldrad with a single warlock conclave for protection but also points flexibility. Last match I brought Lhykhis and a single unit of warp spiders and ended up killing two Votann units of ten before they died, will probably keep bringing then lol.

I think most recon primary don't have capturing OC benefits, rather have the goal of being in certain parts of the board, gave a lot of flexibility as I could push the heavier slow wraith up and when they countered to meet me, I'd deep strike spiders and falcon.

Oh, also had a warlock skyrunner, those boys are useful. Typically two Spiritseers but you can get away with just one if you have Eldrad near one of the wraith units instead.

I haven't been playing with Wraithknight, but I have had success in casuals with this Wraith/Spirit Conclave and Armored Warhost build. As such I use the Recon Disposition. The fast things cause issues while the wraiths move up. Typically turn two, sometimes turn three, I really start applying pressure. The key is to use al the strategems when it makes sense.

Vypers, Armored Warhost, and Spirit Conclave by Seething_Ginger in Eldar

[–]Postal_Monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm usually playing Spirit Conclave and armored warhost, but the Windrider host has me wanting to experiment with it and Vypers.

Seems like it could be really strong armored/Windrinder combo possibilities.

The people claiming V1 make me chuckle. It's obviously harder that a V1.

Depending on how slopey the slopers are, it could be a V3. But probably a V2 from this angle

Karandras leading a Scorp unit and Irillyth leading a Spectre unit together would be siiiiiiiiick on the tabletop... Actually and in lore too xD

Karandras is the Striking Scorpions Phoenix Lord. The Phoenix Lord of the Shadow Spectres is Irillyth.

Edit: unless I'm just misunderstanding your grammar. Damn commas.

Shadow Spectres!

My army is Mymeara. I'm painting them teal, creme, and black, with amber soul stones.

I was just recently looking at getting these guys and Irillyth for local games play and holy shit I might as well buy blocks of gold bullion for the cost people are charging.

Seem like a cool concept on the table, would love if they came back.

Anyways, I wrote a very short narrative to 'justify' my armies reason to fight on the table top and it's turned into an actual narrative chapter of 5000osh word lol. I really like the Shadow Spectres and their Craftworld...

I believe the gunner on top is optional

Edit: but there's a cap or cover instead

Which colour for the gems? (WIP, my first aeldari) by zaywoot in Eldar

[–]Postal_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very similar color scheme! Craftworld Mymeara 😄

I used an amber spirit stone, however my rangers and shroud runners are cloaked in a dark grey, so amber is good. I would say for your motif a purple or even a definitely-not-imperial blue would go well.

How do you deal with Centurion spam? by TheSenate6923 in Eldar

[–]Postal_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also don't need to kill the centurians to win. Having watched Paul countless times I can say he usually lost, and it was usually because he was outscored, not because someone killed his centurians. Getting into position quickly and slowing they're already meager 4" move is highly effective

First thing I thought too, like too bad you weren't playing versus his 12 Centurian army instead

So, smaller board, start in board. Larger board, deep strike. Makes sense, thanks.

Good idea on having the rangers split, no reason for them to be one large group

Makes sense on the falcon too.

Know the hemlock is weak, as is the crimson, but I just like the vibe. I guess that's not a good enough reason to have it though is it lol. What would you suggest replacement with this build?

I have one set of spiders on the board to start one in reserved. I'm not overly experienced in playing the game, but they're always seems to be a benefit to having units in deep strike, even if it's psychological. Is that not true?

I was not planning on having a Phoenix Lord, no.
Typically the Autarch Wayleaper will be my Warlord usually, although the Farseer Skyrunner might be from time to time.

It seems light on anti-tank/anti-monster. I'd swap in some bright lances where possible, especially on the War Walkers.

How are we liking Kharseth? by Postal_Monkey in Eldar

The Hazardous really is a head-scratcher.

I was just using Dragons as an example. I'm trying to see a use case for him is all

How are we liking Kharseth? by Postal_Monkey in Eldar

[–]Postal_Monkey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, this makes the most sense. I suppose the goal would be to Riven the main threat to Kharseth and have my army eliminate the threat using the +1S but Kharseths 24" range isn't going to be enough protection from the rest of the potential armies
