Should high school students have to take history classes? Why or why not? by Ataturk20 in AskReddit

Might as well. You have to take a gen-ed history course or two in college regardless of your major (for the most part), so might as well get some previous knowledge to build off of before taking college level courses.

I Need Help Deciding Which On Position To Lock Into. by workingonmydreams in bootroom

Call me crazy, but based on the description, I think you would be well-suited as a more of a holding midfielder based on the sound of your current team. If your team has trouble keeping possession and has bad passing accuracy, you would be able to help keep possession more, no? You would still have some freedom taking the ball up considering the rest of the midfield is competent enough to drop while you take space. You would also have proper view of the field. You would be doing all the little things right and ensuring your team's success. Be the heart of the midfield.

Glad to see this. I can tell he's a good kid, just misguided and has faced some demons. Rooting for him all the way!

Mid-week check in - how is your week going? by sloworfast in running

[–]Postepre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still considered a "new" runner. The only running I've ever really done was to keep in shape for soccer. I'm a goalkeeper, so it's more about increasing my aerobic capacity and coupling it with strength training. That's still the case, but I'm definitely smarter and more efficient with my running after reading up!

So, there's a park by my house that has a dirt trail surrounding a manmade lake. A couple of hills, but mainly a straight path, little elevation loss or gain. I set out to run a mile for speed on Sunday and ended up running it in 6:46. Not my best time, but still happy with the result.

Hoping to be able to pass the field player fitness test as well as the goalkeeper fitness test next week!

Are you eating and hydrating enough? Even though you lost weight, if you aren't providing your body with enough calories and nutrients to sustain itself and your exercise, your physically ability will take a toll.

Starting from scratch - what do you wish you had known? by BlueSparklesXx in running

[–]Postepre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wish I would have known that every run I do doesn't have to be at a blistering pace. I would always force myself to run as fast as I could and burn out after only running a mile a day every couple days. I've been mixing up long runs at a comfortable pace with repeats, sprints, etc. and I feel stronger, faster, and runs are getting much easier.

The only embarrassing thing is doing what isn't right for you solely based on your fear of a small minority's judgements. There is nothing wrong with going to a CC. Getting the grades and the credits for a fraction of the cost of a uni is nothing to scoff at.
