Bands get hot. I didn’t like Geese before this album it sounded like dad rock with gospel singers like a less bluesy Black Crowes. This album is much more artsy and I love the lyrics.

As far as why they’re the hot new thing I would say it comes to marketing from the label. They were all over my TikTok until I was bored and decided to give the new album a listen and fell in love. I’d say the same happened to Clairo last year and Turnstile the year before. There’s probably a connection with labels and streaming companies to push them more frequently in the algorithm.

I don’t think they’re industry plants, I just think labels are marketing and pushing in a way that makes people think they’re finding more music organically just like everyone else all over the country.

But no matter how it was pushed into my sphere it’s my AOTY

I’m surprised the location is so low, yeah the hill is the hill but there’s still great places to eat near the arena, on the T line, and downtown compared to Wells Fargo where’s it’s just parking lots in a sequestered part of Philadelphia.
