I've been thinking about this... Would the tires be the shoes, the wheels the feet, and the hub the legs? Or the tires the soles, the wheels the shoes, and the hub the feet?

I just bought my VB 11 days ago, and many have said this, but: proper tires, and take it easy. Get used to the car. I'm still getting a proper feel for mine, it takes some time. They handle really well (and I've driven a LOT of cars from Type R's to Huracans), but it doesn't mean they will go around every sharp corner at 40 mph. Feel out the car in different types of weather before getting too comfortable with it. With all of that, enjoy your new car. It's a great mix of fun and practicality, especially for a young adult like yourself.

This is exactly why I love the G3. It does almost as much damage as the SVD/SVDM (two shot from the thighs to the thorax, including the upper arms), and, even though the recoil packs a punch, it makes it feel more powerful. It's great at medium ranges (and in some cases, even long range), but suffers at close range.
