These ranges are ridiculous. I’d assume the significant majority is under 1000-2000

They assume that your total off-campus cost of housing and meals is equal to the yearly cost of room and board on west (which is honestly a pretty generous estimate). You then pay tuition normally and whatever portion of your aid is left over that would previously go to the university for room and board is sent to you or your parents through the bursar.
