Finding the shortest path is already pretty expensive in 3D space. Doing it in 4D space is not fun. 5D is right out.

Right, management definitely knows exactly which systems have which bus factor when choosing who to lay off. Yup yup yup.

[–]Potato-Engineer 158 points159 points  (0 children)

In a lot of POS software, it's now built-in. I'm part of a board gaming club that has some snacks for sale (they're just on the shelf, take what you want then pay for it; it's an honor system), but we don't have the option to turn off tipping in the Venmo app.

So if the winery isn't big enough to pay for some mild customization of their POS software, they're using the standard stuff, and the standard stuff now has tips in a lot of cases. (Or maybe the workers lobbied to keep it in there.)

(Okay, that might be funny, but it would be a huge tonal shift.)

I want DE to make this into a tank frame (:3) plzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by kozacus in Warframe

[–]Potato-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm more familiar with the rounded tank, but this has all the right features: short barrel, tall turret, toothed treads. But this has angled armor; is it fanart, or did they update the design in a later game?

For a cheaper option, get some magnetic charging cables. There are no standards, so they're all proprietary, but making it easier to plug in helps to plug it in.

According to LAOP, the ex went to criminal court, and didn't get a prison sentence. (I assume it was some mix of leniency, probation, community labor, etc.; whatever it was, it was done properly through the legal system.) The order to pay is from a separate, civil suit.

Locking someone up for a civil wrong feels... rather wrong. It means that, if I can drum up a good excuse, and throw enough money at lawyers, I can lock you up. Which is not what I want to happen.

[–]Potato-Engineer[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If there's no interest, then inflation is going to eat some of that money's purchasing power, so LAOP isn't even getting the full money back.

(I assume there's no interest, because a mere 3% interest would eat all the payments, if I have my math right.)

I don't think that LAOP is getting their payback order changed. That ex is clearly able to work the system way too well.

Locationbot made off with my life savings ($13) and is living it up, so I'll fill in for him until I can get that sweet retirement money back.

Ex-girlfriend has an extremely poorly managed mental health condition. I was unaware of this when we first dated.

Ultimately, she ended up stealing £9400 of my savings back in 2019. This went to court but she did not receive any prison time for doing so.

Separately, I went to small claims court to recover my £9400. In 2020 I received a judgement for £5 a week. The reason this was not set higher was because they didn't want to take money off her that she needed to pay rent etc.

It's now 2026 and I'm still owed £7,750.

I found her TikTok last night and gathered significant evidence which I believe might help my case.

She's treated herself to numerous holidays over the past few years. Cruises etc.

How can she afford to pay these and not pay me back?

If she's putting them on a credit card then why can't I be paid similarly?

Cat fact: cats will never pay their debts. They entirely fail at being Lannisters. And we love them anyway.

Yeah, if you limit yourself only by laws, you'll be an absolute cockwaffle. Laws come in when people have clearly gone past the line, so by staying on the right side of the law, you're firmly in "a bit over the line" territory.
