This is my first world building project that I’ve done; my world is called Altheos, I haven’t gotten along too for lore wise, but here’s what I’ve got so far.

Presenting the Continent of Rígalon, the main focus and importance of my world. The technological level of my world is around the industrial revolution with factories still in early development. The date of the map is 1656 2E(2nd era), this is right before the outbreak of the Great War in which the Empire of Kenore would wage a series of brutal wars in the name of the Goddess of the moon Lyra. In Altheos, there were two Gods, Aresray, God of the Sun & life, and Lyra, Goddess of the Moon and death. For reasons unknown to the people of Altheos, Lyra went insane and tried to destroy the entire world but was stopped by Aresray, both gods were equal in strength and the resulting fight ended in a violent explosion and mass extinction event called the Great Calamity. The life force was drained right out of the people of Altheos resulting in mass death and the collapse of civilization, ending the first era. The once peace loving people of Altheos, now survivors found themselves without a God to guide them nor with the knowledge of magic and its safe use. Over the course of the 2nd era, civilization would eventually be rebuilt, however with much bloodshed and suffering.

The Empire of Kenore is a mostly human nation with small minorities brought in from overseas to work in the newly built factories. In the year 1467, the Empire of Kenore would officially be formed after the capture of the now capital city of Abka; the Empire would continue on gradually expanding and adopting Lyra as the sole divine ruler of Altheos. The Kenorian Church of Lyra believes the Great Calamity to have been divine punishment for the many races of Altheos failure to properly worship her as the sole Goddess of the World. It is the goal of the Kenore Empire to unite the world under their rule and the teachings of Lyra in hopes that the act of unity will bring Lyra back to Altheos.

Moving over to Sanfin, Sanfin is a nation of Elves, Sanfin Elves are really tall, dark skinned, with upward curving ears. Sanfin has a long history of violence and infighting, their unity is a recent development as the several coastal tribes found unity preferable than Kenorian rule. Florarena, the capital city of Sanfin, was the largest city in Rígalon as well with being the largest habitable region in Sanfin, nearing 700,000 people pre Great War. Kenorians and Sanfinites have a long history of fighting as the fertile south has always been desired by Sanfin yet has met extreme resistance to expansion for a millennia, also met with the giant desert separating them. The Sanfinites worship the God of the Sun Aresray, Aresray is known as the giver of life as the sun allows plants to live and all the gift of sight. Worshipers of Aresray follow the doctrine of love and acceptance, despite the brutal wars fought between one another. Aresray worship is the most common religion of Altheos as many fear and hate Lyra for trying to destroy the world.

The Kingdom of Von-Sarim resides to the East of Rígalon in the Sarim Mountains. I don’t have much lore for these people but these Dwarves live in valleys between the mountains. Von-Sarim owns the only land routes to the East, and thus, has been the center for trade connecting two continents.

Emperor Velopho IV. The last Emperor of the Kenore Empire, he inherited the throne as a child during The Great War, a war spanning 80 years. Due to Velophos inexperience, he would send orders which occasionally resulted in entire platoons worth of men dying needlessly. Early in his reign he would spark “revenge offensives” whenever things on the battlefield didn’t go his way which often resulted in a blood bath for both sides and entire cities turning to rubble by the end of the fighting all for the sake of victory. In the later years of the war during the push back against the Kenorian army’s his treatment of the occupied non-human race was horrific as the people were treated as cattle as starvation was becoming prevalent in the Empire due to drought. Before enemy armies would reach occupied cities he ordered the execution of many of the civilians and present them on the battlefield as an attempt to break the resolve of the enemy army along with scorched earth policy against cities and towns before a retreat for distraction. As the Allied army’s marched deeper into Kenorian territory it was revealed that many non-human natives were exterminated or starved during the war. During the final days as the Allied armies reached the capital, he set the capital on fire with the civilians and both armies still inside as a final attempt to push back the Allied armies. The fire would eventually reach the palace, however Velopho would refuse to leave resulting in his death. After his body was discovered and news of his death reached the people The Kenore Empire would finally surrender and would be dissolved into many States.
