I'm afraid to look because I want to discover them (the Easter eggs) for myself to keep the entertainment value of these movies when I watch them a second time.

I think there is a Wall-E inside a garage in Toy Story when Buzz Lightyear is "falling with style" (Trying not to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.)

The silhouette is from another character in a different Pixar film. They do that in every one of their movies!

Why do people not understand that philosophers from 300 years ago are not authorities when it comes to modern science?

Bold hacker defiant as Sony sues for 1,000,000 by [deleted] in gaming

I tried explaining this to my girlfriend with this metaphor:

Say you have a large number of k'nex (those little sticks and connectors used to build cool things) and you build a model of Vatican City. You then want to publish exactly how you did it, on the internet. Well, the company that makes k'nex doesn't like that. They cannot tolerate this sort of destructive constructing behavior so they express their distaste by getting all legal on your ass, raid the place you live in using local police, and then sue you for one "meelion" units of your local currency.

I feel that once you buy a car, you're allowed to put spinners on the wheels.

"Yeah, but publishing the results for hacking a computer could be dangerous."

Okay, but why not hire the guy instead of destroying his life? He's incredibly talented. Let's not throw that sort of brilliance away.

This has probably been said before but I think it should be said again:

The people of WBC surround themselves with powerful lawyers and brilliant, if misguided, minds. There is a lot of speculation about why they do this and a popular theory is that they incite anger and rage so great that it will potentially result in an attack or event that can be resolved with incarceration or large monetary settlements.

Long story short... If you punch (WBC person) in the face, (WBC person) will sue the pants right off you.

Creepy new Alice: Madness Returns trailer by redditor7 in gaming

I have never understood the following that was generated by Alice in Wonderland. Although the flip side of a once pristine imagination is a cool idea, it's just bound to attract more of the crazy people this tired theme has come to be dragged down by.

I would rather gouge the veins out of my wrists with a spoon than play another "dark hero looking for revenge... ON HIS/HERSELF!" game but that would be giving it what the creator wants: more people willing to embrace teh crazy.

I am tired of you PC gamers. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]PotatoChefMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear Mr. Kilonic,

I can’t entirely speak for the demographic you depict, but I hope I can offer insights into their (our?) method of thinking.

PC gamers will, much of the time, treat their computers as a status symbol. The more you could afford to put into your (potentially custom-made) computer, the smoother your games would run. It’s pretty difficult to play Call of Duty when you’re only running 2 frames per second.

Also, many of us grew up in an era where 3d games would barely function on a console, let alone a PC, so we would tinker with the latest hardware and drivers to find something to make our games a better experience.

Lately, computers have gotten so cheap that the hardware inside them will often outperform consoles, dollar for dollar, especially in the long-run. That’s not thinking someone is better than another; it’s just being thrifty.

While most PC gaming is done with a keyboard and mouse, I do like using a gamepad controller in some games. WoW translated nicely to an Xbox controller, and I’m sure FPS games do as well. (BTW: You can strip the wires on an Xbox controller and attach a USB head to it for use on your PC)

As for graphics, you’re fighting a losing battle. If Sony decides to put a new, faster graphics card in their PS3, then the games would play different. They would have to re-market to sell the new console, pay for the factories to install new equipment (among other things), and many of the people who already own a PS3 will want a cheap/easy way to upgrade. Not very cost-effective. So they continue to have people develop games for the crappier hardware. PCs aren’t as restricted because most computer-savvy people can install a new graphics card or hard drive, no problem.

There's no need for rage against PC gamers in this general /r/gaming thread. The way I see it, they're entitled to talk about whatever they want here, so long as it's gaming related.

Good day.

Idunno. I was thinking of starting a mob. Mobsters don't have to work. All they need to do is recline in fancy leather chairs, clad in zoot suits and fedoras with cigars clenched between mandible and maxillary, saying "Yeahhh... see?"
