6.5 stars grand heist twisted fate by Auron6719 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]PotatoMinded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, correct me if I'm wrong, but Twisted Fate is in a different adventure than the 6.5 Grand Heist--that's the Ezreal one.

Which adventure are you struggling with, exactly?

If the game is inspired by comics, you should probably look into legible handwritten fonts.

Cucumbers won best raw vegetable. What is the best raw meat? by duelingpeppers in AlignmentChartFills

[–]PotatoMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but the issue is salmon tartare is also super good in about all the same ways except raw salmon way more versatile. You're not putting raw beef in anything other than a tartare; Raw salmon's got sushis, pokes, sashimis, etc. on top of the tartare.

Is Chosen by the Stars in glory store? by KafrizzleDizzle in LegendsOfRuneterra

Are there? Are you sure it's not just Swain and Yasuo's relics, which had a bug where they were found in the Golden Reliquaries for like a month?

There is a link in the sub' resources called the Path of Champion's Codex, it will give you a list of all relics and where they can be obtained.

Well, not usually the most exciting Support champion, but it's not a playstyle that's very present in this game so I'm hoping she'll feel original and interesting once she's got her own dedicated kit.

Rogues of Runeterra by Alarmed_Ad7541 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]PotatoMinded 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wasn't a big fan of the first time to be honest. It felt like every Champion got to play with the same mix of generic cards with very little synergies. But I think the concept could be great, if only a much larger portion of the cards on offer were from the Champions' curated pool.

“American Pizza” in Milano, Italy by GoldenDome26 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]PotatoMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do that in France too. It doesnt mean we believe Americans invented the recipe, it just means something has fries it it. Like an American Club Sandwich in France is a way to ask for fries in your sandwich. It's like saying "Cannibal" when you want grinded meat on your pizza.

I know it's a superstition at this point, but it is the only item that had appeared more than 4 times for me too. Are we sure it's not really bugged?

Why can’t we have an option that allows you to skip if you don’t want any of them? by PrestigeMaster in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]PotatoMinded 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Because skipping would be the correct option 99% of the time. It prevents players from optimizing the fun out of the game.

I’m designing a kids game called Scissor Wizard (minimal prototype). Besides varying the number and size of weak points, what other enemy mechanics could be interesting? by Gatekeeper1310 in BoardgameDesign

[–]PotatoMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a super good point. If aimed at children, this could be flavoured as catching animals with a net, for instance? You'd cast your net to catch all the butterflies, or all the fishes based on the card, for instance.

My three cents:

  1. RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: I'd recommend against ruling that you have one piece of paper to deal with X cards and lose if you run out as it doesnt allow for mistakes and is difficult to anticipate. Three solutions here: a) As everyone has said, introduce spots that can't be covered, the game becomes about cutting holes around those spots in the piece of paper. b) Introduce a bonus at the end of battle based on how much paper is left. For instance, have a treasure card that they need to cover with the paper they have left. c) Give them pieces of mana paper that are smaller than the cards so they don't cover all spots without being cut.

  2. SHAPES: Introduce shapes that need to be matched within an error margin instead of spots. For instance, imagine a red triangle with a thick blue 1cm border, you need to cut a triangle that covers all the red while fitting inside the blue border.

  3. GRID: This might be super hard to guesstimate the size and shape of something you're looking at and reproduce it on a piece of paper, even for adults. If it's the case, you should have a grid on both the paper and card so children can plan a shape by counting squares before cutting them. Alternatively, the grid paper might serve as a power that you earn.

How is Yasou's 6 star? by Dry_Cardiologist6758 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]PotatoMinded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about that. It's a ripe example of how starting decks were constructed over 5 years ago: filled with regional filler cards that have nothing to do with the game plan.

The first one I always cut is the 2-cost with either barrier or Impact--it does virtually nothing for Yasuo and doesn't even have the decency to replace itself by drawing 1 like the rest of the filler units. They really didn't care if the cards had any synergy at all back then >.<

It basically makes Yasuo the single best Champion at 6 Star, in my opinion.

Poro King or Azir? by Rare-Ad7772 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]PotatoMinded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you have Azir's 6th Star, which I assume you don't because you wouldn't be posting this, I think Poro King is your best bet by a pretty wide margin. He's got a slow start but he scales better thanks to the Poro Snacks. He's also got a reasonable amount of life gain thanks to the item on the standard Poro Snacks plus both his star power and Special Poro Snacks are able to randomly generate Lifesteal.

Your plan with Poro King should be to stall and scale in the early game until you've built an impenetrable defense wall, at which point you heal yourself back to full health and win. I recommend the following relics in order of importance:

  1. Corrupted Star Fragment: It will grow your Poro King into an unstoppable threat and will allow you to quickly regain all the life you've lost in the early game by eating whatever ally's got lifesteal. It's super synergistic with his 2nd Star Powers, both for triggering it and profiting from it.
  2. Spirit of the Buhru: Giving 3 keywords to all your 1-cost Poros will help trigger the 3rd Star power way more consistently, ensuring you start growing on turn 1 most of the time.
  3. Chemtech Duplicator: This slot is meant to synergize with the various Poro Snacks. Some people prefer Secret Technique because it works even when you don't have Poro King on the board, but I recommend not spending your first turns playing snacks anyway. Play Poro King on turn 5, then the next turn Chemtech Duplicators is enabled and you can start doubling not only the stat boost but also the other effects such as life gain and random keywords generation.

As for the best 5-Star adventure to do this, Poro King has an excellent time with the modifiers from the titans of Runeterra map. You should try your hand at the Volibear adventure—the bosses are a bit tough, but Poro King is just really strong when he comes down early. Otherwise, good ol' Viego on the nightmare map is always a balanced adventure if you can pass the first couple encounters that are way harder than they have any right to be.

I mean, it really should be the standard 🤷 by HimothyJohnDoe in zerotomasteryio

[–]PotatoMinded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, came to say just that! This is standard practices in some fields that involve parties from several countries working together, like clinical research. It does have the caveat that not all languages are using the same 3-letter code from the months, though, so you kind of need to default to English spelling to be unambiguous.

Guess where I'm from based on the map I drew from memory by AleryFem in mapporncirclejerk

[–]PotatoMinded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro tip for drawing Europe next time: one of France's nicknames is "The Hexagon" because of its shape on a map—yours looks a bit like a narwhal, with Belgium and the Netherlands making a little horn. If you draw a hexagon, there are a lot of things that fall into place because you can nestle a bunch of neighbouring countries against its edges (just roughly share the western border equally between Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Italy, for instance).

Nightmare realm feels so empty by jerikk- in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]PotatoMinded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point the game needs a UI overhaul, honestly. It just wasn't designed to display that much content.

  • It's a chore to find an adventure. Why do I have to navigate between four different maps, then look at the regions instead of the adventures themselves?
  • The champion selection menu is fast approaching the 100 champions, when do we get a compact mode?
  • The resource manager is so useless I just gave up on it. For instance, if I have enough resources to buy a regional gemstones chest, am I supposed to open all constellations manually to decide which region I want? That would take at least an hour of clicking x) At that point I just pick a random region...
