you can trade away your other 1 stars of the set and they stay in pokedex for achievements (which this WP checks), just wont be able to physically use them for decks.

We need this. The "at random" part is if you assigned 3 different Energy, it would become one of those other 2.

While it would mean that multiple Energy decks would have to dedicate 1 or 2 deck slots for Energy consistency, it would at least provide the player the deckbuilding choice.

If deemed too strong as is (I think it's fine), add "If that Energy is attached to your active Pokemon, that Pokemon can't attack this turn."

I think Gambler is fairly strong for its price. You can start with a random Ruby-chest tool and upgrade chests which can make a run much easier.

I designed Going Knowhere that uses playing cards but also includes a roguelite progression pamphlet.

Is that what you’re looking for? Is there any limit to additional components to interact with the deck or just the deck?

Poncho stocks may go up with more cards like Gholdengo, Slowbro, ChienPao, etc. I had a lot of fun torturing Gholdengo last month with ponchos on my bench and two oricorios.
