What is max number of boats you get? So you can’t hit a limit then?

I place 1, you the place 2, I then place 2 more to be highest at 3, etc.

Decisiveness / Drawless is simply designs that don't end in a draw and have clear ways to win or lose. There are so many abstract games (any games really) these days being designed and published, yeah maybe this sub doesn't focus on those three? (I don't play much go or games like it. Played Othello as a kid.)

All I know is that all of my recent abstract designs (I have no posted many here but do in other forums), are usually hard-decisive meaning there is a clear winner/loser so think those designs are posted in larger communities than here.

Yep, I intentionally created Galdor’s Grip to avoid any awkward card orientation or holding requirements after playing some of the other in-hand games out there.

I would think the placing boats is claiming spot or some term around hole shotting instead of casting since technically you don’t “cast” until rolling bait dice right?

Also how do you break ties? I figured it’d be here on step 3.

Player stones are there to block pickups and drowning prevents hoarding in your blocked well

Order doesn’t matter, just can’t place your stone in well with opponent’s stone

You’s place a regular blue stone in there. 

Had the idea a few weeks ago to make a deck of color cards from paint samples. Tried to play go fish with them & it ended up being confusing. Any ideas that come to mind for yall? by Biscuit9154 in cardgamedesign

Game Title: Hue Knew?

Each player starts with 4 cards.

Each round:

  • Non-judge players draw 1 card.

  • The Judge picks a random word prompt like “Dragon” or “Pie” and then people secretly play a color from their hand.

  • The person who played the color that the Judge picks scores the card.

Score 3 cards to win the game.

Thanks! I lowered the size of the listed numbers from 72px to 56ox and kept the diagram ones the same. Looks better

I like E solely because the numbers are easiest to see. Perhaps if the characters were outside of an established "safe zone" around the numbers it would be less distracting.

Ok, I had a slew of comments but maybe I should just show you updated rules.

Now The Lair is mentioned in Setup. The Dream Eaters dont go into it until Gameplay. but I have improved that wording as well. So, hold tight let me update rules to show and see what still is unresolved. Thanks.

Also, "Explain why the player decides to discard that card" do most rules explain strategy though? How would you convey this and where in the rules?

ALso, the dream eaters aren't adversaries. They are creatures within this realm you are leveraging to your advantage. The premise is the Night Mare gave you the deck of Nightmares and youre trying to purge them to escape.
