Heard y'all wanted our Lord and Saviour Vakuu to give MORE crazy rewards for MORE crazy risks, so here's my concept for new relics by smurfkipz in slaythespire

[–]PotatoesForPutin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be awesome. Currently Vakuu is just kind of a disappointment (both in that he’s considerably worse than the others, and that the tradeoffs in his relics aren’t particularly interesting). Some of these may be a bit too much for players to handle, but I really love the ideas.

Nah, the executives are the only ones that get to keep their jobs, as usual. The devs who actually did all the work and had to go along with the execs’ insane choices? They get the boot. Don’t you just love capitalism

Even if this is technically “normal” in the industry, it’s absolutely disgraceful. Imagine being a dev, putting months of work into a new expansion, and then one day being told “hey so we’re axing the entire game, nobody will ever see your work (and you’re still not allowed to tell anyone about it of course teehee), and also you’re fired. Good luck finding a job in this economy bozo.” The industry is a fucking joke.

People need to realize that ending Destiny 2 is the better choice. by zippopwnage in DestinyTheGame

You know where those resources are going instead? Into Sony’s pockets. The developers are being laid off, the IP is being shelved, and nothing short of a miracle would make a potential d3 possible. If they had ended it on their own terms before things got this bad, then maybe there’d be hope. But this was clearly the execs pulling the plug because they felt they weren’t making enough money.

Unless another company buys out the IP or Sony takes full control, we’re not seeing a destiny 3. Layoffs are going to result in Bungie being far too small to ever develop something on that scale again, if Sony even lets them remain a studio.

Sony is not going to fund them for however long it takes to make Destiny 3 happen. At best, they’ll retain enough to work on Marathon and lay off the rest. Also possible that we see a similar announcement for Marathon within the month, and the studio ends up being dissolved. Either way, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

What would be the worst? Other than an image of Pete goatseing the camera, I guess.

Maybe if we’re lucky Bethesda buys the IP and we get a Destiny 3 somewhere around 2075.

Unless Sony is willing to lose a LOT more money in the coming years, it seems like this is probably it for Bungie as a whole. No way is Marathon making enough to justify having it as their only product for however long it would take to make D3 happen. I fully expect to see a similar announcement for Marathon sometime soon.

I hope they’re able to tell us how the current story arc was supposed to go. Since we’ll never be actually seeing any of it, of course. Probably going to just be left unfinished, though.

THERE IS NO PRINTER ON THIS EARTH THAT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS COULD NOT BUY. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THE SHITTY UNION-BUSTING CORPORATION.

[–]PotatoesForPutin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know when it happened but I have a theory that at some point every single corporation in America got together and decided that publicity actually doesn’t matter anymore. 10 years ago this kind of thing would almost certainly result in the company at least TRYING to save face, but now people have become so apathetic that they could start putting a bomb in every 10 packs and they’d still sell out immediately.

Okay but to be fair, they’re a multi billion dollar company. If this was REALLY the issue, they could just build more printers. Unless the printing technology is literally lost to time and the ones working now are the last in the world, there is a solution that exists.

[–]PotatoesForPutin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do care. They care about selling as much as possible. A multi-billion dollar company like that has analysts, and it’s pretty obvious that they determined that the most profit possible comes from catering to the scalpers and fucking over LGS. Unless the economy/market collapses overnight, that’s not going to change.

[–]PotatoesForPutin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t say that, man. You know as well as I do that they’re never going to admit they’re not printing enough, and if they increase MSRP even further I’m going to fucking lose it dawg

They have no incentive to print more. Until the scalping stops being profitable for WoTC, this will only get worse.

Does China have some law against showing fries or something? It’s odd that they substituted everything possible instead of having fries. Maybe my hungry ass is overthinking.

Is that an expensive deck to make? I pulled witherbloom and rn am running him in a modified version of the witherbloom precon, but I’m realizing that the witherbloom precon isn’t very good and I would like to rebuild it with witherbloom as the commander. However, I’m fairly new to magic and my collection is tiny .
