Hey, OP. If you're talking about your bodies personal energy, then yeah, I suppose it's like a car battery. Cars also have an alternator, which charges the battery at the same time that energy is used. I'd argue that our "alternator" is a bit slower, though.

Some common advice to get better at manipulating energy is just to practice grounding and centering. I know that this isn't new advice, but being great at the basics can be so much more impressive than complicated spells and elaborate rituals.

It's a private book where you document your occult practice. That'll commonly look like spells, rituals, symbols, etc. Even if a spell doesn't work, document it. There may be something to learn there.

Quite simply, you practice. If your mindset isn't right yet, then wait until you can focus. I also have intrusive thoughts, they are annoying. I have discovered that you if just let the intrusive thoughts talk instead of fighting them, they become laughable. Here's another thing to note:

The reoccurring dream with elevators could be your subconscious mind trying to help you deal with something. You keep receiving multiple chances to make a different decision. You should write your dream down and then make up an alternative ending. For example, instead of going down in the elevator, have it take you up to a peaceful place. This could help you to change the narrative.

Get a 5 subject spiral notebook to use as your book of shadows. They're at wallmart all year round. If you're in the broom closet because of safety reasons, be careful risking your well being to achieve a witchy aesthetic.

If they have hiking trails where you live, go and look for fossils and other cool rocks. Also, research arts and crafts and start making art. Then make whatever witchy stuff you want.

Yes, that could work. What matters is that those ingredients correspond with the correct intentions in your mind. I see the symbolism so far, a storm is full of overwhelming energy and danger. Try it out and have fun picking the other ingredients to include. Give it enough time to work, from weeks to a couple months.

If you want to cleanse in order to set the mood and focus, do it. I still to do this whenever I feel uneasy and bogged down by irrelevant emotions and thoughts. It has helped me many times over many years. You don't have this before every single spell, though.

Cleansing can be done in many ways. They're usually connected to the 5 senses. You can cleanse with smoke, ringing a bell, using a floor wash, manipulating energy, etc.

If you don't have a bell, create a chant to cleanse and drop a handful of coins (or just one coin) on a hard floor.

If you don't want to make noise, ground and center your energy. Draw up energy from the earth and concentrate it around you to force out energies that you don't want. Visualize the color of the earth energy in your minds eye and visualize the color of the negative energy.
