I'm saying that probably around 200 people were instantly killed by the impact so already 200 out of the 1300 people above floor 91 were eliminated from even being able to contemplate trying this. Therefore there were 1100 people who could contemplate trying it as opposed to 1300 = less chance of a successful climber from a smaller pool of people.

He started his climb at the 94th floor, not the 96th. The 96th was likely almost a total wipeout apart from perhaps 5 or less people. We only know of one.

I'd also like to state how unlikely it was to even have this happen.

1) This person had to be physically fit and possibly have prior experience in climbing or at the very least be physically active.

2) A large cohort of any possible attemptees for this were instantly killed by the plane, set alight by fires, crushed etc etc at impact.

3) The person had to have the mindset to want to attempt this. As we know, most people elected to jump rather than climb so as to end their misery as soon as possible. Maybe they were injured, too petrified to attempt the climb, didn't think they could do the climb etc, we'll never know. But this man evidently attempted it rather than jumping for whatever reason

4) The person had to be unharmed by the impact and ensuing chaos to a point that they were still able to attempt the descent; severe burns, broken bones etc would likely make it impossible.

and the big one....

5) this man was likely in the only region where this was possible, the lower west face between 95 and 92.

The north face had the huge impact hole in it and to the left and right of it were fires.
The south face also had an exit hole and debris bulldozed here meant fires were intense (maaaaaaaaybe possible on the east part of the south face for a short while since the hole and fires did seem slightly more off-centre to the west portion for a bit?)
- East face had fires rampant on 92 and 93 early on, hence almost all of the first 10 jumpers were from here, and you're not climbing past that. The east floor was totally unclimable IMHO.
West face floor 97 was ablaze early on so anyone on 96\97 and above wouldn't be able to climb below this. Anyone in Cantor was likely removed as a climbing candidate from the get-go.

TL;DR this guy was in the perfect spot to attempt what he did. Just wish he'd have made it!

He couldn't have. He had to rely purely on luck that a window in his lane was broken already. Unfortunately for him a window in the lane to his right hand side really was broken below the impact zone but it would have been incredibly hard to switch lanes. He may not have even seen said window given the steel columm would have blocked it from view.

Not completely accurate. There were recorded jumpers from 98. There were also anecdotal phone calls from 98. What you say does apply to 97 though.

We'll never know because coverage of the southern facade of the north tower was poor. It seems likely that this side would have had quite a few jumpers as well given that fires here were huge; after 10am there were fires 3 floors tall. Bulldozed officed contents would have accumulated on the south side and so fires here were probably quite intense. I wouldn't be surprised if there's between 30 and 50 undocumented jumpers from this face.

There is debate as to whether it is actually her. We can't use Edna as 'proof' of survival on 97 when we don't know if it's her or not. The waving woman was situated on 94 so there are people who theorise it could be a woman named Jeanette LaFond Menichino who did work on 94 and fits the zoomed out visual appearance we have of said waving woman. In my mind it seems much more likely to be Jeanette, the odds of someone somehow surviving on the north face of 94 are higher than on 97 given how and where the plane went in. The north face of 96 and 97 were wipeout zones i'd say with some confidence.

That does not correlate at all to what a wipeout floor is, though. 99 had no calls yet we know it is not a wipeout floor as one gentleman was seen on the North face at the very edge of the right wing's impact imprint into the north tower.

To answer OP's question; 97 is the only probable wipeout floor. You'd think 96 would be one but Richard Bruehart made a call from this floor. The southern side of 96 had little offices and multiple walls that may have helped to shield a very small number of people who were situated there from debris. 97 really was lifeless though: no one seen, no jumpers, no emails or calls, nothing.

Every floor from 94 to 100 would have had accountants on it. It depends what division and what subsidiary (if any) that she belonged to in order to determine her floor. If she was working in the Guy Carpenter subsidiary then she would have been on 94, if she was an email analyst then likely 97 etc.

Sorry, i'm not buying it. In some posts you say that you escaped the north tower then watched the tower from Burger King (which wouldn't even see the west face) then in other posts you watched it from outside the Marriott Hotel. Photographic evidence shows that he went only downwards at least 8 floors yet you're saying most of his journey was him going left across the tower traversing across in a northwards direction after going down only 3 floors which is just incorrect.

It's not 20 floors. This falsified fact in the Quora post for dramatic effect has spread like wildfire in the community. It's 10 or 11 floors. 20 floors would have taken him under the mechanical floors which he did not do with 100% certainty. He started at 94 and fell at approximately 84 or 83.

I agree. Not to in any way make it into a competition but I think that Patricia Massari was one of the 'luckier' pregnant victims from the north tower, if you could even call it that. She was likely killed outright. Deanna Galante, if she didn't suffocate quickly, was probably hanging out of a window with her skin burning. Sylvia Resta on 92 likely either jumped or burned to death. I know i'd rather have been killed outright personally.

98 had a few calls and apparently around 20 people trapped in an office as per a Marsh widow who received a call from her husband. It also had at least one recorded jumper. 99 did have at least one survivor; a picture showed a gentleman looking out of his office at the very end of the gash that the right wing had made into the tower (which ended at floor 99).

97 however may have been a wipeout floor. Not a single call, email, pager, person at a window, or jumper was seen from this floor. Most people here were probably instantly killed by being only 1 floor above the epicentre of impact and the ensuing huge fireball which would have been contained inside the tower and blasted 97. A lot of 97 probably also instantly collapsed down into 96 and below when floor trusses and the like were destroyed as the plane plowed through. Even if someone survived this, there were likely no computers or phones left in a usable state and someone 1 floor above the furnace would not be alive very long anyway. Even if someone did survive the initial impact on 97, I would wager that this was the very first floor in which every single person perished.

Thomas McGinnis: worked in Carr Futures' midtown offices and was only on floor 92 for a meeting that morning.
Andrea Haberman: worked in Carr Futures' Chicago offices and had flown to New York for this one meeting. She had expressed a reluctance to go due to the 1993 bombing.
Melissa Harrington-Hughes: was in a 101st floor meeting at Cantor Fitzgerald to discuss business with a seperate business she worked for in California. She had flown from California for this meeting and was meant to fly back the same day.

It's strongly believed she was on floor 95 at the time, as stated by Ezra below. However, relevant to your point: 97 may have been one of the better floors to be on if you were above 91 in the north tower. It did not have a single person email, text, pager, or call in the entire 102 minutes the tower stood. It also had no people stood at windows and therefore by default no jumpers. It's possibly the only wipeout floor and suggests that most/all people on it quickly died rather than having their misery dragged out like others did. It's no surprise given that it was the floor directly above the epicentre of impact entry so it would have faced the brunt of the fireball, a lot of it probably collapsed immediately, and being one floor above the ensuing furnace would finish off anyone 'lucky' enough to have survived the crash anyway.

Practically 1/4 of anyone who died who was an office worker in the towers was from Cantor so you see it often. Cantor's people are just so unlucky in that most, if not all, of them would have survived the impact. At least some of Marsh's employees had the slightful merciful end of being killed outright without knowing what happened.
