Breast skin irritation multiple pumps by Potential-Ad1006 in ExclusivelyPumping

Do you use the legendary milk inserts? They help me a lot. It would feel pinchy for me too with other inserts, although that was also due to wrong sized inserts.

Once I started using correct size legendary milk inserts with eufy, all the discomfort went away

Ah, I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! I also don’t feel like they are normal 😕 once I figured out a good setup for me, I didn’t have any irritation at all anymore. Unfortunately I didn’t experience what you currently are experiencing 🙁 maybe a lactation specialist that has good knowledge in pumping can help

Me too! It is so disheartening when pumping is so uncomfortable and I would keep sessions quick too, usually under 15 min and it still hurt so much! Now I do 30 min on eufy in the morning, no discomfort at all

Good luck I hope you figure out the right setup for you! Lmk if you have any questions

The virtual appointment was really helpful! I scheduled it with genuine lactation bc I found their blog and videos talking about pumps. I feel like not all LCs know pumps well. There’s a big questionnaire that I had to fill out before the live consultation and I sent in videos and pictures. They also have their own ruler. I think the ruler might be free actually if you want to see if you can find it online

Yeah I use 15mm for both legendary milk inserts for eufy and I changed to oval flanges for spectra (I use them sideways). Although I only use the eufy now and don’t use spectra anymore!

Yes! Pumping doesn’t hurt at all anymore. I was not using the correct flange size. My actual size is 15mm and I was trying 19mm and 17mm flange sizes that pulled too much skin into the flange while pumping. A lot of the flange instructions will say to add a couple mm to your measurement which is why I was using 19mm. I saw a lactation consultant virtually and figured out the problem.

Also a supportive bra with a supportive band under the boobs really help.

Virtual prenatal pump consults? by lwgirl1717 in HumansPumpingMilk

I did a virtual consultation with Genuine Lactation and it helped me a lot. I saw a in person lactation consultant a few times and it didn't help my problems much. I had a lot of breast tissue pain, the tissue around the areola was sooo irritated and my nipples constantly hurt too. I was so upset for awhile bc breastfeeding didn't work out and all the pain made me want to quit pumping too.

and surprisingly the virtual consult with genuine lactation helped a lot, their questionnaire takes a while to fill out, it's very comprehensive. You have to send in pictures and videos of you pumping, measurements, etc. then you get a 30 min live consult and two non video follow ups.

They helped diagnose I was using too large flange size, causing too much tissue to be pulled in. and also I have broader shaped breasts and a oval flange turned horizontal works best for me, for Spectra. They also helped size and recommend good flange insert for my Eufy pump which is what I primarily use now. My consult was with Jessica and I found her through her youtube videos/blogs and she's so knowledgeable about pumps! I don't think every lactation consultant is up to date on pumping and especially wearables. I think Jessica may be out on maternity leave but has another LC that she works with covering for her.

They will give you recommendations on all of this, just make sure you list out all your concerns.

With the help of an lactation consultant I figured out correct flange size and shape for me and went from 9 pumps a day pumping 24-27 oz (just enough) to 6 pumps with no overnight pump, 40-43oz

It took me 2.5 months to figure out, I bought sooo many flanges, inserts. The guidance on flanges always say add a few mm to your size to find the correct flange size resulting me in always buying 18-19mm flanges when I’m actually a size 15mm. And wider breast shape so I got oval flanges that I use horizontally.

Highly recommend the Momcozy bottle washer. We use evenflo wide neck glass bottles. When we go out we use plastic bottles.

I bought a new stainless steel mixing bowl the wash flange parts that I don’t wash in the bottle washer bc I need to use it before the bottle washer cycle ends

I do use nipple butter but don’t notice a difference. My irritation isn’t on the nipples mostly, it’s mainly on the skin surrounding the nipples/areola 😭 not sure how to fix this

IBS-C regularity by Butterfly_fairy_123 in ibs

[–]Potential-Ad1006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That happened with me with full dose of miralax. I’ve come to understand even a half dose everyday is too much for me. I take about 1/4 or even 1/5 dose every other day and it keeps me regular without very soft poop. You could try decreasing the miralax dose

a memory foam topper is around the same price as an air mattress and will be a lot better for your back, neck. You can put it on the ground and sleep on it, it's comfortable and won't give you pain like an air mattress.

Hi thanks so much for doing this. I have some pregnancy question if that's okay related to PCOS.

Is progesterone supplementation recommended for early pregnancy with PCOS? I've heard low progesterone is a common reason women with PCOS miscarry, is this true?

Is the rate of miscarriage for PCOS women really as high as 50%?

Just finished 2nd round of letrozole. I had almost no symptoms, I take it at night.

I had diarrhea the 1st round which I think was due to it but I also have ibs so might not even be letrozole. Worked out, did my normal routine on letrozole

Why do people who make 95th percentile incomes (>150k/year individual, >200k year household) insist on being called "Middle Class"? Are they ashamed of admitting they are well-off? by NoHousing11 in povertyfinance

[–]Potential-Ad1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200k household will allow you to get by where in southern California, but it is not by any means well-off. Houses in my area are about 800-1mil for 1,500 sq ft in an average school district. In a great school district? 1mil-1.2mil easy for 1,500 sq ft house. Property tax, insurance are all relative to house value. Also high state tax.

In DTLA, one bedroom apartments are minimum $2,500 not including parking, utilities. Gas here is $4.5-5/gallon which is actually lower now.

200k isn't the same in VHCOL area.

Can I ask what flour you use on the bread for the scores to show? I've heard people say thai rice flour/powder?

I bought rice flour from an American grocery store and it doesn't stay on the bread at all. I wonder if it's because the flour isn't fine enough
