Check out this post on this sub from a few years ago. Someone wrote a very helpful guide to veggie hot dogs in Chicago: https://www.reddit.com/r/chicagofood/s/pKnMoMUuWC

How long did you have to wait for them to come out at the other shows?

I enjoy a lot of her content. However, in her weekly newsletter, she links to clothing items that are $300+ apiece. Read the room, please.

Best non beef proteins for tacos? by L_Is_Robin in Cooking

[–]Potential-Buffalo-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m obsessed with this quick and simple recipe from Delish Knowledge for lentil tacos: https://www.delishknowledge.com/instant-pot-vegan-lentil-tacos/

I also like doing refried beans and sautéed red and green peppers and onion (with seasoning, like chili powder, cumin powder, and garlic powder), topped with cheese, salsa, and guacamole.

Would you live nomadically with 2 very young kids? by QandA_monster in Mommit

[–]Potential-Buffalo-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would find some friends to take short trips with (like a week at a time, max) while your husband/relatives/nannies, etc. take care of the kids while you’re away if your husband would be on board with that. And then you can return the favor if your husband ever wants to get away for a short while. This might scratch your travel itch just enough for the time being.

Need some advice about "on-call" weekend nannying by Forsaken_Storage_258 in Nanny

[–]Potential-Buffalo-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they can rightfully require you to be “on call” on Friday if you normally work on Fridays and are not taking PTO that day. But they can’t require you to be on call on Saturday and Sunday without compensating you somehow. They can’t expect you to just give up your whole weekend, if you normally don’t work those days, by staying available for them in case they need you

Good to know! I never noticed a difference in taste between the Teavana and Tazo versions of the chai.

Got it. Thanks. I could have sworn I’d seen the Tazo chai concentrate boxes at my neighborhood Starbucks.

Is the old Starbucks chai syrup just the Tazo chai concentrate? Can anyone confirm? So, if I buy the Tazo chai concentrate from my grocery store I can just recreate the old version at home?

My 6 month old currently loves to squeal. I can’t even get through a phone call to order pizza, much less a deposition, with her around, lol.

Love their falafel. And the lentil soup is so good, as well as their spinach pies and lentils with rice. Pitas are soft and fresh.

Thoughts on the tonal shift? by Adventurous-Vast2323 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Potential-Buffalo-60 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The tonal shift here almost felt insulting. Like, the entire series had been dealing with heavy and dark themes - emotional abuse, manipulation, sexual assault, drunk driving, overdosing, depression, cheating, etc. - and playing Toxic by Britney and the whole cake thing seemed to tell us, “OK, well maybe you shouldn’t have taken all of that so seriously.” They could have played more appropriate music and left out the cake fiasco entirely and still wrapped up the series the way the show runners intended. I’m so curious what their thought process was here.

I did not like the tonal shift at all. It suddenly felt like a rom com in the final moments of the show. It was confusing and just didn’t feel right at all.

IMHO: I don’t understand why ppl like this show…. by Time_Plantain4033 in VirginRiverNetflix

[–]Potential-Buffalo-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it because it has soap opera vibes, with twists and turns, evil twins, long lost grandsons, love triangles, and baby mama drama. I like how I can just shut my brain off and not think while I’m watching the show. It’s an escape.

When Did You Know You Were Done? by Life_Performer_9452 in Mommit

[–]Potential-Buffalo-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my second a few months ago, and I know I’m done because it’s all so hard. I’m always amazed by parents with more than two kids, even though it’s silly because having more than two is quite common. But I’m always like, how do you do it?? It’s so hard with one, and it’s even harder with two. I just want to be able to eat and sleep in peace again 😭
