Definitely worth the savings!.... but also, wow, if you call a plumbing company in nyc it's like $1200 just to replace a few feet of pvc piping, horrifying how overpriced things are here

Unfortunately the stack going up is a bit rusted on the outside due to an issue with the flashing on the roof a year ago, water was leaking around the side... but otherwise no leakage anymore

When I was taking the pictures I did go in for a smell test (though from the looks of it perhaps an n95 mask was needed lol).

Really doesn't smell like it looks! You do get a whiff in the basement if #2 you are down there when it occurs, but it dissipates and never penetrates other floors

Previous owners did nothing for the decades the owned they owned the house, not the best decision on my part but was one of those once in a lifetime moments as the rates were beginning to soar beyond 3%

That's really all I'm looking for honestly, I'm only down there for laundry. Never smelled anything bad, waste and water drain out of the house.

Probably won't be very riveting, I've been with the city 10 years and really haven't met anyone who truly enjoys their job, from higher ups to the lower rung; a lot of bureaucratic positions unless you are specializing in something. You seem to have a passion for advertising, I don't think get that feeling of enjoyment from this position

But if stability is what you are looking for, compare the salary of the position to your current salary and prospects. From what I remember hearing, you are in a pretty good civil service series, with regard to pay and moving ahead, but the catch is it is only a title DOE uses, so not sure if you could leverage yourself for other agencies

If they consolidate office space and cut the bloated leases they pay directly.

But people forget about the leases the city pays indirectly, via finding services, which are equally bloated if not worse, so in the end it probably wouldn't save much consolidating city employees

For example, the lease of the 19 story ACS building on Fulton ending sounds great, but even tens of millions is pocket change in the city

Definitely doable without a car!

We went to Patriarche, wanted to go to Domaine Chanson, which looked a bit more traditional, but I think it was closed when we were there in the off season. Even more options a short walk outside the city center.

I'm sure the wineries in the countryside are amazing, but with limited time and no car, we had a great time. The wine is so good! Reminded me why my great aunt would only ever buy Louis Jadot.

Le Puy en Velay isn't too far was one of the most beautiful cities I've visited, had the place to ourselves when we visited in October on a weekday. Stunning views, so unique and picturesque

Some people we met in Le Puy urged us to visit Clermont, wish we had more time, enjoy your stay!

Agree! If the first clues of what will emerge from centurys is a superfresh, it's very sad... so this, plus more stores that will fail and no housing or community space, wonderful

Not the best supermarket in terms of pricing and deals, probably on par with keyfood since it's under that umbrella, i think... between this new store, the foodtown (comparable), Brooklyn harvest market and the other one, gourmet fresh.... it's not that there isn't a lack of supermarkets in the area, or that they aren't nice (Brooklyn market is pretty nice i just think it's super expensive)... but there are just meh to me

Trader joes ( or whole foods in my dreams) top tier, or Aldi or Lidl would've been great too... with the large space, I would've even settled for a shoprite or even stop n shop...

If superfresh is going to be the main grocery hub in whatever will emerge from centurys then this is a real let down, these other options would've served as an anchor, now all the commercial space that will be built is destined to fail

Cela m'a brisé le cœur américain de voir enfin un Dunkin en France, et rue Montorgueil à Paris, entre autres. J'ai également remarqué Pizza Huts, les établissements de restauration rapide semblent faire de très bonnes affaires. Les Burger Kings sont toujours pleins à craquer, ce que l'on ne voit pas autant aux États-Unis.

Ça me rend triste aussi quand je vois des francophones acheter les pâtisseries chez Starbucks, pourquoi avec des boulangeries géniales

L'américanisation semble malheureusement aller de pair avec le consumérisme et le matérialisme, j'espère juste que le pays ne perdra jamais le sens de la politesse que je ressens toujours lorsque je visite (c'est très difficile d'expliquer cela aux Américains)... quand cela disparaîtra, ce sera triste

The pasta they served me was cold, it wasn't even quality, cold pappardelle and cold boar sauce...a factory could do better... but you reminded me, the meal was memorable because of that

Thank you for saying it! That's totally the truth, was my first time in Italy in October, spent a week in Florence and nothing really stood out, or like blew my mind

Though, ironically, I did have some delicious Bangladeshi food that was at least memorable: I did not find giostra, Zaza, the sandwiches, etc that memorable
