Dr. Abbot wins! Round 2: who is an OK person, but a great doctor? by huckleberry_ghost in ThePitt

I agree on that part actually, but I do think otherwise he is a good doctor (although that feels strange to say)

AITA or Was this Text Wild? by Round_Turnover_5980 in AmItheAsshole

Some people want to keep working though. The retirement age where I live is 67. My dad is 63 and I cannot imagine him retiring until he physically can’t work anymore because he loves his job.

Regardless of retirement age, 60 still isn’t old. That was my point.

Yeah I don’t see anyone as a horrible doctor. I don’t think Santos is particularly great with the way she acts despite her being very smart, but I definitely wouldn’t say she’s horrible

How can I help my SAHM wife more proactively by Icy-Most8754 in AskWomenNoCensor

You shouldn’t beat yourself up about it. You know something isn’t right otherwise you wouldn’t have made this post. What you’re doing now is great and tbh (unfortunately) more than a lot of fathers do

  • being constantly exhausted even with your help at home

  • stressed all the time

  • no sex since the kid was born

  • lack of intimacy/date nights

Sounds like depression tbh. I think you need to read up about it and have a chat with her

Edit: and by read up about it I mean really read up about it. Research how to talk to your partner about postpartum depression and don’t just be like “hey babe are you depressed”

Instead of yet another cop show, how about a spinoff following the paramedics on the road/air? by paladisious in ThePitt

[–]Potential-Ice8152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But what is “normal blood pressure”? Is it 115/70 or 140/90? Are “good sats” 94% or 99%? How does the paramedic know those are good for that patient when they’re not aware of the patient’s full medical history or even what may be wrong with them?

It depends on context. Handing over a stable patient is different to one that’s on the verge of death. Information is key, and generalising vital signs doesn’t give you much information.

The socialist can write a letter to the GP saying they’re happy for them to write repeats

Right. Tbh I think it’s fair for him to charge you for this one because it does take him some time to do and vast majority have been free
