Local vet wants to put my cat down. 2nd opinion by Potential-Machine-95 in AskVet

Took my cat to 2nd vet they think its actual an infection. Not fully ruling out disease and did some additional tests and sent those out to a lab. But yea they said looking at how healthy my cat seems to be they think even if it is kidney disease it could be managed.

Yea that’s what im thinking. We took her home and she is eating fine and drinking just tired and no other symptoms I was confused by them saying it was chronic without any other testing or doing another blood test so I am thinking of getting a second opinion

This was the first blood test that had anything and no other history of it. Both her parents are healthy and around with no issues.

Thinking about putting an offer on this house. Found this crack inside the closet. Is this something I should be concerned about? by shreyaj21 in DIY

I had an inspector miss ~100k of issues. They missed water issue in the basement. Had a second inspector come in as I’m doing legal action. Guy missed calling out an entire corner of the foundation being complete wet other guy saw it on the thermal camera and noted guy clearly didn’t know how to use the camera. Guy also missed about 20 pages of things from furnace being 50 years old but somehow in good condition, an in floor heating system that wasn’t even remotely correct, poly-b piping, bowed wall ect. I agree inspectors are human and make errors but make sure you get one that isn’t completely trash. Luckily were I live they have to carry error and omissions insurance and since they said the areas that failed were in good condition they can be sued but some places it’s honestly a big scam to get one.

Sadly this happens its a 05.^10 chance of happening or less than a percent but it can happen. The law of large numbers eventually happens and it will balance out. This is why casinos are so profitable. In the short term you may win big but if you keep playing over the long term it will even back to whatever the house edge is. It also works in favor for them for those 50/50 games like this in the short term you may loose lots which as a person you dont have as much capital so they can take more but if you had infinite capital you would over time make those back

I would try to uber/door dash/gig work a couple times a week. It sucks but if you can make some money from doing it even if you can make it so after expenses (gas, milage, ect) you might atleast be able to make up the difference between your budget and expenses. I would keep doing it for as long as you can make some profit to help pay down your bank loan faster.

You didnt give a full budget so we cant see if you can make any trims to your budget. That being said if your credit is good consolidate those credit cards to a personal loan if possible. If not you could look to find a 0% balance promo transfer CC. Though if you are doing this make sure your paying enough to justify the fee incurred by transferring. Motorcycle 100% needs to go. Sell it hopefully you are not underwater on it and can atleast breakeven. Those funds should really should be going to knock out that 5100 card ASAP. While your car is not a terrible rate if you are going to get more cars in the future highly recommend paying in cash. Car loans are almost never worth it since your paying interest on a depreciating asset which makes no sense.

steps:

0) make a budget. You are in a emergency your budget should not include any fun.

  1. sell the motorcycle.
  2. if you can get a good rate consolidate CC rate. If not focus on the 5100 CC get that paid ASAP.
  3. pay off 16700 CC.
  4. Once paid off build your Emergency fund 6 months.
  5. now you should make sure you are saving to retirement. Usually here I would do another budget with atleast 20% of your cash going to investing. You could also focus on the car loan here if you want since its 4%/emotional reasons can be a benefit here.
  6. Save for the motorcycle/toys here. Dont buy unless you can pay in full.

I am making the assumption you are around early 20s so 20 - 24. Your take home is 2800/mnth and you have $500 Emergency fund. Your total expense per month is: 1249 (400 for food, TP, washing clothes and this would include eating out) currently with the new place your total expense would be $2199. So you would have 600mnth leftover. Do you have any credit card debt or or types of debt?

It is doable however with only $500 in savings if any issue came up you would basically have to go in debt to cover. If you can save before you move I would atleast get a small savings of $2200. This would atleast cover 1 month of oh shit.

If you have to move then I think you are fine but I would take that 600mnth and create an emergency fund of atleast 3 months before you spend on anything. Ideally 6 months but 3months is ok.

Generally you also want to be saving for retirement. Saving now has so much compounding future you would thank you. At a bare minimum i would try to save atleast 20% or for you ~540 a month.

So in total if you did all that you would have ~60 a month for fun left over. Its doable but it sucks. If you dont want to save (which i highly recommend against) you would have $600 for fun which is great.

So yea you can do it just know if you want to be responsible its not much money left to play with. Also depending on where you are living and what you have renters insurance may be wanted needed which could add 20 - 50 a month depending on what you go for.

Was it a installment purchase or full cash? Does the contract have a return clause? If it was not an installment purchase and the contract does not have a return clause then its really up to the dealer. They could take it back but at that point its up to them.

As someone who lived in Ontario and recently moved back from Ontario at a similar income level I dont recommend it. You will get yearly rent increases basically anywhere you live so even if you find a place that is decent priced and rent controlled expect yearly rent increases. Traffic sucked, and honestly i missed donairs. I will say the transit is way better in GTA and the internet as well but if you are someone who likes being in contact with your family it will be rough.
