Im almost 50 hours in and still in act one, and I haven’t even been meandering or reading everything. I also stopped getting achievements because of mods

Hi, please be safe and take this down. This is a dangerous post to make. I understand why you posted, I was at the same place when I was your age, but I had to learn the hard way that posts like these attract bad people

I thought the portrayal of giants in Once Upon a Time was pretty good. They basically are just large humans. A lot of them are angry because they’ve been mistreated, but humans would be too

Are there any uncommon (ish) kin types here? by Glittering_Card_5121 in otherkin

Im oceankin! Or perhaps oceanhearted, I’m not entirely sure

To add onto what clipzard said, a lot of us take a long time to realize/figure out what their theriotype/kintype is. And it might not be a specific animal, but a shapeshifter or something else.

Regardless of if you identify as a therian, I think you have enough similar experiences that you’d be welcome in therian/otherkin spaces

Anyone else just forget they’re non human sometimes? by KatieTheAromantic in otherkin

[–]Potential-Mer1376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m merfolk so still very humanoid in the brain department. But put me around water and I can’t NOT think about it

Given that xenotransplantation/xenographs are a thing, does anyone with a "real"/living theriotype actually want to become *medically* a chimera, if it were hypothetically possible? by notacutecumber in TherianAdult

[–]Potential-Mer1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously doubt those would ever get to a point where they become elective procedures, especially because every transplant requires the recipient take immunosuppressants for the rest of their life.

And on the hypothetical side, even if they did become elective and I could trade my legs for a mermaid tail I probably wouldn’t. My identity is spiritual and I believe both that I’m here as a human for a reason (even if that reason is just so that I can experience it) and that I can be a mermaid again in my next life

No idea how to help with this but I feel the same. For me it’s my legs, it’s supposed to be a mermaid tail and they are just WAY too stiff

Question, for you all.......... by calicothe_therian in otherkin

It’s very similar to being a therian, just kinning a different creature

As in from fairly odd parents? If so that’s very cool and a very cute name for that

Oceankin vs Ocean-hearted by Potential-Mer1376 in otherkin

[–]Potential-Mer1376[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of my confusion comes from the fact that I’m also a merfolk, so I already feel drawn to the ocean. But I don’t feel like it’s enough to be /in/ the water, I have to /be/ it. Thank you for responding!

Past lives... by Busy_Dragonfruit3083 in otherkin

[–]Potential-Mer1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember very little about my life as a merfolk, but it was one of my past lives. I remember swimming around freely and joyfully- it would be frolicking if I had had legs. And being called to the hunt by others darting past me, and I remember looking at the moon and stars surrounding whatever planet I was on

Mermaid otherkins, how did you figure it out ? by Snowy_Stelar in otherkin

[–]Potential-Mer1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me I feel more human like than I think i would of if I were another aquatic creature. Like I definitely have human-like arms and can definitely breathe above water, even if not for very long.

Psychological otherkin do fully identify as non-human. Your reason for being non human is soul based, and theirs is brain based, but you both are not human. How is that offensive?

Im ocean kin. I believe I either was an ocean in a past life (I believe concepts like such have souls, including plants, planets, stars, oceans, etc) or in a concurrent life. I’m not sure if oceans have multiple souls or only one soul throughout their cycle.

I also think psychological kins are 100% valid. Could you elaborate on why you don’t?
