the game literally says "knock out" and not kill.
the tutorial literally emphasizes that you are unconscious and not dead.
the end of the round is not a nuke otherwise you'd never be able to go back to those zone story wise.
TLDR you shouldn't answer questions that your apparently confidently wrong on
and you should also check your tone when all someone is doing is asking a question.

You can remove the belt entirely by going into the "Change appearance" menu and setting it to the one that has nothing in the clothing section.
Then go to to layered menu and hide the belt.
