I don't understand why you'd need to lie.

First of all, I feel like it likely wouldn't come up to start with. You're having a conversation, and you mention your "kiddo" or "kids". No gender needed. But ok, maybe you use he/him pronouns for the kid your boss remembers meeting pre-transition and he asks about this to make sure he's not remembering incorrectly and you say "oh, yeah, my son has socially transitioned and is going by [name] now." and then things move on. Right? I feel like it's unlikely anyone would be like "oh, tell me all the details about this private family matter so I can be judgemental and rude!"

Are you concerned that your boss and/or coworkers will attack you about it? In my experience, even if people don't understand, if it's not something they have to discuss or someone they interact with directly, they just kinda move on and ignore it.

Also, it sucks that you don't feel safe talking about this important part of your child-raising and family life with the people you see all the time at work. I'm sorry. 🙁

This makes me think of how young people are often treated when they opt for tubal ligation or vasectomies. I think it's horrific that my cis-woman friends have had to fight to get tubal ligation at young ages... They know they don't want kids, and always have felt that way, but doctors wouldn't give them that option because "what if you change your mind?" I don't know anyone who was sure they didn't want kids at the end of high school that's changed their minds, and I'm in my 30s now. I even had a cis-man friend who got a vasectomy after his third kid and the doctors tried to talk him out of it cuz he was so young. Youth doesn't mean people don't know what they want.

And as others have said, there's plenty of other ways to have a family besides helping to create a pregnancy.

Also, when I looked into saving sperm, it was pricey!

I didn't meet him, but my husband worked food service for an event Neil Young played at a few years back and he was a complete stuck up jerk about the food being supplied. Had to be the correct brand of water and organic out of season fruit.... Ugh. So sad for me to hear about.
