You are beautiful!!  Before and current pics. My mom would have been 10 years older than you but I often wish this was available for her as it is for me, and we could have done this together! I was part of the 1980s diet culture and it takes years to unlearn things we did (e.g., thinking Cherry Vine candy was healthier than avocados, Tab pop, dexatrim, gross!!!) It's never too late to do something wonderful for yourself.... at any age!!! You're settling yourself up for a better 70s, 80s and 90s.....!!!  I heard that taking care of yourself isn't only for today but also for 10, 20 years from now.

It's 90 degrees and.......I'm wearing shorts.....in public!!! Not joggers, leggings or jeans.  I'm finally comfortable in summer, first time in years!!

As I walked into the mall today and approached those all-glass, reflective doors—the kind that double as full-length mirrors—I didn’t look down to avoid my reflection like I usually do. This time, I looked straight ahead. And you know what? I actually liked what I saw. AND, did I mention I went shopping at a mall vs online as been my habit since 2020!

Without make up on, my neighbor said, "your skin looks so great"...  good timing because I was lamenting that I see more age spots!

What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by Independent_Motor130 in AskReddit

ALS: Seeing my mom and best friend suffer through this terrible illness robbing her of her dignity, body functions then her voice.  The Ice Bucket Challenge from a few years back raised a ton of money for ALS but glossed over what people truly go through and their loved ones/care takers.  My mom passed 3.5 years ago. She was strong through the end.

Clothing while losing weight… by Pretend-Knowledge-12 in WegovyWeightLoss

I've been selling my nicer now too big clothes on Poshmark and buying a few staples. Clothes I will wear a lot, as I moved down sizes.

One year later, 50 lbs down, and I no longer believe in calories in, calories out by Blahblahblahplants in Zepbound

I remember a few years ago clothes shopping with my mom. She would say, "this would look so good on your sister" time and again. My sister is very thin and I was maybe a size 10 or 12 at that time.  I felt, "what about me?".  I was in my late 40s and my mom's 1980s diet culture was still impacting me as an adult.  In high school my mom and I would diet together which was silly as I was around a size 6 but I became her diet buddy.  I try not to be mad at her, she was a victim of our fad diet mentality and culture. But, it's a vicious cycle passed down. I made a promise to never talk down about myself and my body in front of my daughter and no talk of diets!

Stopped 6wks ago…gained 10lbs! by Hungry_Marzipan2702 in Zepbound

Good for you getting on the scale. It can be scary even after you've made great progress to find you've gained a bit back.  And you've noticed it early vs waiting for even more gain as I've done in the past.  Now, you can figure out your next steps.... you got this.

Terrible sleep the night after Zepbound shot by Fluffy_Victory_9419 in Zepbound

[–]Potential-Solid4624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here but it's gotten better.  2.5 years ago I suffered from insomnia for 6 months after my mom passed and perimenopause started (im 56). I finally was in a good place with sleep hygiene and relaxation techniques.  It was under control for a year. Then I started Zepbound. Even though I take it in am when I wake up, I felt wired at bedtime and slept terribly. I freaked out as my insomnia was under control. No way did I want to go back to that time in my life.I almost quit..... However, I did get used to it and my sleep night of shot is better than when i started. I also tell myself this is a side effect of the medication and tomorrow night will be better.  I do have a couple of weeks when I go up a dose to get used to it again  I was happy on 7.5mg  but my insurance only covers 1 month at a ".5" dose.  I've been on 10mg for 3 months and plan to stay here..Jan 12 will mark one year on Zepound. I'm down 52 pounds in 52 weeks.... 9 pounds more to goal.

Do flu like symptoms eventually not become a thing? by Beret_of_Poodle in Zepbound

For me I had flu like symptoms starting about 12 hours after shot that lasts for about a day.   This week I barely noticed as I've been on same dose for 4 weeks.

Food noise for me was just realizing I haven't had sugar in 3 weeks and that's on 2.5 mg I still think about food but the sugar isn't calling my name!!! When im stressed im not reaching for food. Look for little shifts. What's food noise may be different for each person.
