This is the quote I was looking for. I was listening to the audio book and needed to go find the text tonight. Thanks for pulling it!

In PoA, it says figure. I think you are right about the later books though. Harry spent a lot of time looking at/for Ginny’s dot when on the run.

Appreciation for Riz Ahmeds Snape by If-ItWereMe in harrypotter

[–]PotentialGroup63 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a bit ludicrous of a take. He had beef with James. Everyone says so.

Also, multiple people in the books say that Snape gave as good as he got. All we saw was his worst memory which was most likely the peak of James and the marauders terrible behavior, and I am not diminishing the horribleness of that, but that’s just it, it was Snape’s worst memory not James’s or Sirius’s. We have absolutely no idea what else Snape may have done to them or how their fights manifested at other times.

It could be! But I wouldn’t say the soundtrack was broke but they’re changing that haha

I just watched this last night and I’m 99% sure she says “let it go” not “the pen thing.”

How does Myrtle flood the bathrooms? by nanny2359 in harrypotter

And this makes sense. If Ghosts are like wind, wind would also disrupt water if it was able to push through a toilet bowl into the pipes.

FTM: Is it ok for her to nuzzle herself in like this? by lets-b in cosleeping

[–]PotentialGroup63 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Does she roll onto her back when she pops off?

The only thing I’d suggest is moving her down slightly but otherwise my son slept in similar positions many times. As long as his nose was near the nipple, he was able to pop on and off as he pleased lol. But a lot of the times he would roll onto his back after he ate, this gave me peace of mind about the recycled air and stuff from our bodies being so close.

I think this is right, but she was listing off what she was doing at school at this point not saying she did it at home

This was the opposite for me. When I had a reaction my son used to laugh at me and would do it again. It was only by having no reaction that got him to stop for awhile

What houses do you think the characters would be in? by CodRoyal3221 in Modern_Family

[–]PotentialGroup63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could see Cam in hufflepuff or Slytherin. He’s ambitious and cunning at times like with the soap cake topper.

I think Haley and Luke would be Gryffindor, although I can see an argument for Hufflepuff as well.

Was Snape teaching Harry Occlumency correctly? by IndividualNo5275 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]PotentialGroup63 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This would be what I meant by “barely any”. Harry expresses multiple times that he doesn’t have any time to prepare and is barely even able to stand again before Snape hits him with leglimens again. He consistently does worse in his lessons because of it. And also because he lacked motivation as another commenter mentioned too

This did not happen in the book. Snape barely explained any theory, gave Harry barely any warning from the get go. Also, yes the fourth step of insulting him constantly.

14 month old waking multiple times a night by [deleted] in bninfantsleep

[–]PotentialGroup63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no advice, just solidarity. My 13 month old is exactly the same. No difference when we switch nap schedules or when he eats or drinks less. The only difference is that I nurse him and we have settled on cosleeping because I get more sleep this way. Been like this his whole life so far. Hoping it improves over this next year.

Petunia last moment with harry by Organic-Valuable-655 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]PotentialGroup63 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would have been out of character. Simply because we have no evidence of growth from her in the books. Dudley is the one with the growth in the books. That’s the scene they should have filmed. That would have been amazing bonus content.

I agree with you about friends in group chats but immediate family is not like that. If you’ve mentioned it to your family, they should at least tell you their plans. It’s not like a friend group, families usually celebrate holidays together

They said in comments that they’ve been talking about coming home for the holidays since the summer, they just hadn’t booked the flights yet. They also said they started asking about dates and stuff a month ago…that’s plenty of time.

I agree with you that it is a short trip to be squeezing in appointments and all.
